For the Makeup Mom

I have always loved Jane Iredale products.  They are sold at the salon I frequent, so I have been using these products for years on the recommendation of my hairdresser.  I was thrilled to see that Jane Iredale offers a “Starter Kit” which showcases 4 amazing products in a convenient travel size, all housed in a beautiful silver zip case perfect for travel.

All four products are cosmetic, and are to be used after your cleansing and moisturizing routine.  The first product in the set is Smooth Affair ™ Facial Primer & Brightener.  Brightening products are all the rave right now in the cosmetic industry, especially as the population ages, consumers are looking to lighten and brighten age spots and pigmentation.  This amazing makeup primer evens skin tone and minimizes the appearance of pores.  It is the perfect base under you foundation or mineral powder as it gives skin increased luminosity.  I love the way this primer feels on my skin.  It is lightweight and left my skin feeling nourished.   My mineral powder went on easier, blended better and lasted longer.  Smooth Affair ™ Facial Primer and Brightener is my new go to, I refuse to go without it!

The next steps  in this 4 step all inclusive kit are the Pure Pressed Base and the Amazing Base, both in Golden Glow.  I really love a mineral powder, and have been using Jane Iredale’s Pressed Powder Base for years.  I was thrilled to see that Jane Iredale also offers the Amazing Base which is a loose mineral powder.  I used the Amazing Base over the Primer and found the coverage to be just as wonderful as the Pressed Base.  I popped the Pressed Base, in its cute travel size, into my purse with a makeup sponge, and used it throughout the day to correct my shiny forehead as well as make sure my even skin tone followed me through day into night.  These two Bases are wonderful, it is really difficult to decide which my favorite is, and I plan to continue to enjoy both!!

Breast Cancer Awareness is so important. About 39,620 women will die from breast cancer this year. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Death rates from breast cancer have been declining since about 1989, with larger decreases in women younger than 50. These decreases are believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatment. I believe that awareness is the best way to encourage prevention.

I was thrilled to receive Zumba Wear’s Party in Pink Collection in honor of Breast cancer Awareness. This workout tank is made of wonderful stretchy material. I loved the white color with bright pink trim. Although I don’t do Zumba (I truly lack the coordination, and the one time I tried, it upset me to tears), but have worn it a few times into the Crossfit gym. Definitely a great addition to your workout attire wardrobe, as well as being a nice way to put Breast Cancer Awareness out there.

Orly’s 2013 “Pretty in Pink” Collection is a wonderful collection of 3 sparkly pink polishes. I had to put on 3 coats in order to reach my desired effect, so be patient ladies, and enjoy the sit-down time it takes to dry those nails. The best part of this product is that 20% of the profits go towards Cancer Schmancer. Founded by actress and uterine cancer survivor, Fran Drescher, Cancer Schmancer is dedicated to saving lives through prevention & early detection of cancer. I Love Fran, and watched every single episode of “The Nanny” as a kid. The work she does for cancer prevention is admirable. If you like pink sparkly nail polish, I urge you to seek out Orly’s 2013 “Pretty in Pink” Collection!!

Zumba has been around for a while now and although I didn't pick up on the craze from the beginning I decided to get into it now, since I love to dance and it didn't involve back-aching floor workouts. I have walked by a class before at the YMCA but it didn't seem as intense as I would want so I didn't bother. Until I looked at the class schedule to discover they have different levels of the class! After going on their website, www.zumba.com, I have found out they actually have a lot of different types of Zumba classes, which was very exciting, not to mention a whole clothing collection and tons of useful information! I saw that my YMCA offered a moderate Zumba class so I decided to attend.

I was so ready for the class, dressed in my new, and very stylish Zumba Wear clothing I felt the part...now the test was to see if I could fit the part! The instructor was a very outgoing and nice lady that looked totally in shape so I was excited to think that I could achieve my Zumba body by continuing the classes...but first I had to get through the first one. The music started and it was hits that play on the radio now so I immediately got into it. The steps were explained very well as we navigated through the first song. It was non-stop cardio fun, I felt like I was a backup dancer for a Britney Spears or Nicki Minaj concert.  I've done hip hop dance classes before and loved them, so I instantly loved this Zumba class...even if it was way more intense!

Zumba wear Carpe white borderI had on my Zumba Wear "Carpe the Hell Out of This Diem" t-shirt which was the most comfortable shirt to wear while sweating it out! The material was perfect and was loose to be able to allow me to move in all sorts ways for each dance. I also felt very fashionable which always helps build that self esteem up, especially in a workout class where your trying to learn dance steps and sweating your a** off! If you check out the website and all the clothing they offer (a ton) then you would know how hard it is to not want to buy everything, hah. I loved the styles and colors of the clothes, it fits the whole message behind Zumba, just have fun! Think of Zumba as a dance party and not a workout, which is really easy to do and you will burn calories (a lot) in a fun way. Not to say you won't get a workout, you will! It is hard and it's an hour long! I was looking at the clock on 30 minutes into thinking "it has to be an hour by now!" only to find out I still had a whole 30 minutes left to sweat, lol.

To sum it up Zumba made me feel good and it is very much worth the effort! I definitely will keep it up and I HIGHLY recommend you try it! They have different levels and intensities and you can always adjust any move to accommodate your level of fitness or work around any pre-existing injury you might have that physically limits you. The clothes are a HUGE plus when taking the clas, since they best know the level of movement and flexibility needed they make the clothes perfectly for it! I have the Zumba Wear Racerback Cosmic Blast in Orchard which is a nice color purple :) I will be adding on to my collection, the leggings look so cool! www.zumba.com

Have any of you taken a Zumba class before or have been doing it for a while?? FEEDBACK?
