I've talked in the past about the importance of taking care of your skin, especially when it becomes susceptible to outside factors like the weather and allergens. These sometimes harsh elements eventually break down the skin’s protective barrier leading to sensitive and dry skin.

Healthy skin has a hydrolipid film covering the surface of the skin called the acid mantle. The acid mantle is slightly acidic (PH 5.5). It’s essential to maintain this PH on the skin’s surface and Sebamed has been making soap-free products since the 1960’s which match this acid mantle and maintain the PH level while healing and protecting even the most sensitive skin (like mine).

Sebamed Hand and Nail BalmHere are a couple to try this fall season:

Sebamed hand & nail balm for sensitive skin

  • Quickly absorbs
  • Non-greasy
  • Deep moisturizing
  • Enriched with vitamin B5

I used this daily towards the end of the summer and saw a noticeable difference in my nails. Rubbing directly in the nail and cuticles, it really strengthened and softened them.

A brilliant genius for dark days

Now that the days are getting shorter and it gets colder all the time it also seems like our complexion gets pale more and more. Pur~bright promises to be a bright idea in beauty – to create luminous, even toned skin without harsh ingredients. The 9 powerful plant extracts in pur~bright are clinically proven to strengthen the skin against future damage, while safely decreasing melanin production for fewer age spots. Wow a lot of promises but so far this sounds like a pure genius! When I heard about this product I thought I had to put it to the test. I live in Maine where it gets pretty cold right now and on top of that I try to finally get in shape a little better and work out a lot. So I am really putting my skin to a test right now.

I use the pure-bright serum every single night after I cleanse my face. My first impression was that it felt very refreshing. I am usually not one to use a lot of different products but after just a couple times of usage I didn’t want to go without it anymore. I have very sensitive skin so my cleanser usually leaves behind a little tense feeling in my face. When I apply the pur~bright it seems very calming. The serum is rich on vitamin C and Avocado oil, both being very healthy to not only my type of sensitive and dry skin.

But that’s not everything yet. After I used the product for about 2 weeks people around me started to complement me by saying that my skin tone had brightened up a lot and my complexion had lightened. I felt honored because the last time I had heard something like that was when I was pregnant and everyone told me I looked glowing.

All in all I have to say that I will definitely add this one more step to my nightly routine. It is very much worth it because pur~bright by pur~lisse is purely a genius.
