"While beauty absolutely matters, it doesn't matter absolutely"

I love this philosophy from Soap & Glory; the purveyors of fabulous bath, beauty, and body products. Their fun-loving names like Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick and The Fill Monty, Instant Facial Line Filler really sets them apart in the market. But aside from fun names and unique packaging, it's the effectiveness of their formulations that truly make them stars.

I've written in the past of my love for ChapStick, the classic old standard, simple lip balm. Well ladies, I've found a new favorite. Soap & Glory's A Great Kisser Juicy Peach Lip Moisture Balm. Made with mango and apricot butter for moisturization and protection and a juicy peach scent that will make you lip smack all day long.

I find a little goes a long way and the best part? It stays on your lips without being sticky, too waxy or heavy. I love the smooth texture and just the right tint of color for these natural rosy lips. It comes in a perfectly sized tin too, about $10.

The effects from the sun can be harsh on the skin, especially the face. I mean let’s be honest with ourselves, there really is no safe way to tan. I personally love to be in the sun, I tan pretty easily but I know I need to protect my skin. Overexposure can cause premature wrinkling, age spots, or worse, 04122013 Coola Environmental Repair Plus Clear Recovery Foam Wash certified fabulouscancer. Coola Environmental Repair Plus Clear Recovery Foam Wash is a pre and a post protective wash that cools and tones the skin, reduces inflammation and can even minimize the appearance of age spots.

With certified organic ingredients, this gentle, non-drying formula leaves my skin hydrated and renewed.

Here’s what Coola says about the good stuff in this foam wash:

Soap Berry

A natural cleanser for the skin that reduces age spots and sun damage by inhibiting melanin production.

If you’ve read my profile, you know that I love ChapStick. It has been my go to essential since I was a little girl. My favorite of course is Cherry but I love trying other flavors and the Limited Edition Cupcake Creations flavors are like dessert for your lips only without the added calories.

If I could eat a velvet cupcake every day, I would. Especially red velvet with cream cheese frosting! Yum! Well Velvet Cupcake by ChapStick allows me to do just that and I can have as much as I want. The combination of cocoa and vanilla are so close to the real thing, it’s hard to keep it on my lips since I’m constantly licking it off!

Another flavor that will keep you licking your lips is Cake Batter.   It reminds me of when my children were young begging for the mixing spoons while I made their birthday cake. It just smells exactly like vanilla cake batter.

Now let’s not forget that as yummy as these ChapStick flavors are, they still soothe, protect and help heal chapped lips which is why I love them in the first place.

So indulge in some calorie-free dessert for your lips, but more importantly, take care of yourself.

Leave-in conditioner can be for all hair types.  There are a number of people like me whose fine hair leaves them leary of leave-in conditioners.  The last thing you want to do after you just washed your hair (once it feels nice and clean), is to spray something in it which could make it look greasy or weighed down....

Well let me reassure you there are a number of leave-in conditioners that are great for fine hair.  I have spoken with a number of hair dressers/ stylists and specialists and one of the most common aspect of leave-in conditioner. They all promote is that it can protect the hair from all the daily streeses and abuses we do to our hair like hair drying, flat ironing, curlers, basically exessive heat.   The other comment that is commonly made is that the product itself is great, it is all about the "How" you use it.

So what I have been taught is- Be careful not to use too much

1. Wash hair as usual (just shampoo, skip the conditioner)

2. Towel dry excess moisturer from hair

GUEST CONTRIBUTOR ALERT!

Hope all of you FABULOUS readers had a great Thanksgiving! Today we are happy to introduce a new guest contributor, Victoria. She is a health & beauty writer for Direct Sight (an online glasses retailer). Today Victoria talks about an important topic most people tend to avoid. Enjoy :)

**************************************************************

So as November progresses and December looms, we all know that the days will get shorter and colder. However, when we turn up the central heating and pull on a warm winter coat, is it worth considering any other precautions? Sunlight and, in particular, UV rays are the single biggest cause of skin cancer. In addition, other unpleasant side effects of sun exposure include premature aging, wrinkles and age spots. Most of us will wear a scarf, or maybe even a hat during the winter months, but our faces remain exposed to the elements. Therefore, it’s important to take a few added precautions for skin and eyes in the colder season.

Firstly, it is worth investing in a light sun-protection for the face. It may seem excessive, but UV rays can prove just as dangerous, despite the cold. Up to 80% of UV radiation can also penetrate clouds, meaning gloomy days are deceptive when it comes to skincare. For women, look out for foundations and tinted moisturisers with an added SPF such as Olay Essentials Complete Care Touch of Max Factor Foundation which is a light moisturising cream ideal for the daytime. Many top brands now include SPF 15 in the formulas. However, it is important to remember to cover the entire face to ensure you gain the optimum level of protection.
