Palmer's Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner

Palmers Shea Curl shampooShea Butter is one of the most amazing natural ingredients for hair care, skincare and bodycare. I remember the first time I was offered pure Shea Butter, which is goopy green and kind of nasty. I was on the Island of St. John in the Caribbean, 8+ months pregnant. I was literally so pregnant that the day I flew back from this vacation was the last day I was allowed to fly! I was given a jar, a plain, unmarked jar form a local native woman as I was browsing my way through an open market. The native people on the island LOVED pregnant women, I was treated like royalty the entire vacation. She gave me this jar, and promises me that if I “painted” my ever growing number of stretch marks with it, they would disappear. She was right, the raw Shea butter was the most nourishing and healing product I have ever used. Of course, here in the US you can’t readily buy stinky, green, unprocessed Shea butter, but the next best things are products which incorporate this wonderful material.

Palmers Shea curl conditionerPalmer's Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner contain raw, natural Shea Butter which is sustainably sourced in Africa. Shea Butter moisturizes hair deeply and repairs damaged hair. Palmers Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner also contains Vitamin E, which helps to protect hair from damage and is also super nourishing, as well as Grape Seed Oil which is a really great natural oil used to reduce breakage and strengthen the hair. Sulfate-free, and full of natural ingredients, this hair duo is really amazing.

I love the bottle and pump packaging; it makes it really easy to use this product in the shower. My kids can dispense their own shampoo and conditioner without making a mess and using too much, always a big plus for moms who have to clean the tub!! Specially formulated for curly hair, I am in love with the thickness of both the shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt wonderful after using, and I found that because these products are so nourishing, I’m can use them more often. Many times products claiming to be for curly hair are so drying; I can only wash my hair 1-2 times per week (which means wearing a pony tail 2-3 days a week). Palmers Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner do not dry out my hair, and leave it soft and silky. This duo also smells AMAZING!! Added bonus!

Everyone know (or should know now) that olive oil does wonders for skin! It maintains the moisture barrier and keeps it hydrated and soft for a long time. Olive oil has been included in a large majority of skincare products and remains popular to this day. Branching out a bit more to take olive oil uses to another level, hair care has begun to embrace it. A trusted brand I turn to for many needs, Palmer's, has again stayed on trend with their offering of the Palmer's Olive Oil collection. Here are a few of my favorites:

Olive Oil Formula Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner

I am starting to see more and more organic products hit the selves in the beauty departments. I used to be totally against organic because I didn't feel like it would work as well as other products, but as I started to experience organic products and review them I realized I was way wrong! I now have a bunch of organic products I love and can't live without! I have been branching out to look into organic hair care so I can preserve my colored hair better. The only thing I was worried about was the organic hair products not cleaning my hair and it would feel greasy and dirty still.

As a former beauty editor turned freelance writer (and the founder of InsiderBeautyBuzz), I’ve picked up countless skincare tips over the years. One topic I speak to dermatologists, aestheticians and skincare experts about over and over is little-known uses for common products you probably already have at home, and this little cheat sheet can help you save both time and money…

Product: Conditioner

I bet I’m not the only one who has a few extra almost-empty bottles of conditioner in the shower. Instead of tossing them, you can minimize waste by using conditioner instead of shaving cream. Your razor will glide over your skin effortlessly, and leave skin moisturized afterwards.

Product: Olive Oil

When I’m in the kitchen and too lazy to walk into my bathroom for lip balm, I use a dab of olive oil instead. Olive oil also works great as a cuticle moisturizer, and you can even add it to your bath for extra skin softening.

I love a good mask, especially in the winter when my face tends to be drier than normal.   The right mask will leave your face feeling hydrated and soft and Montagne Jeunesse, Virgin Olive Face Masque did just that and more for these dry cheeks. A wonderful scent of which I still can’t seem to identify, a creamy thick smooth application and a silky soft finish put this mask at the top of my list.

While olive oil deep cleans and combats dry skin, the added moisturizing benefits of shea butter and cocoa butter leave your skin super smooth. I almost always apply a moisturizer after using a mask, but quite honestly, I didn’t need it with this super moisturizing delight.

And as we have been blogging about all week, Montagne Jeunesse offers so many yummy flavors, it’s truly a treat for your face! Strawberry Souffle, Fudge Sauna, White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate! Oh my, one for every day of the week!

So remember to treat your face this winter to a luxurious face mask but more importantly, take care of yourself!
