I am quite the fan of DHC. The well known DHC Deep Cleansing Oil has me hooked and I always enjoy the opportunity to try more products from the brand. I recently tried the DHC Olive Essentials Set - a perfect gift set or addition to your own beauty collection. This set includes the wonderful Deep Cleansing Oil, DHC Mild Soap, DHC Mild Lotion & DHC Olive Virgin Oil. The four-step skin care set gives you the perfect tools for a cleaner, calmer, moisturized complexion through pure, organic olive oil.

Start your skincare routine with the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - Deep Cleanse/Remove Makeup. DHC Olive Essentials SetThis oil thoroughly cleanses and removes makeup while managing to leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized at the same time. This cleanser is also fantastic at removing eye makeup; it easily takes care of my stubborn mascara and eyeliner without irritating my eyes. Using this cleanser is a little different than your typical cleanser as you apply it to your dry skin; dispense into dry hands and massage onto dry face. This will dissolve makeup and other impurities. Rinse thoroughly. You may be thinking that since this is an oil it will be difficult to rinse...quite the opposite. When the oil comes in contact with water, it breaks down and rinses easily leaving your skin soft and never oily.

The second step in this skincare set is to Wash with the DHC Mild Soap. Wet face with lukewarm water and lather in palms, then massage face with the foam to cleanse. Rinse thoroughly. This soap lathers really well and does not feel drying.

Third step...Tone with the DHC Mild Lotion. After washing your face and patting dry, apply this toner to skin with hands or DHC Silky Cotton. I like the texture of this toner, it's like a soft liquid that absorbs well into your skin.

Final step, Moisturize with the DHC Olive Virgin Oil. Use this day and night as your final step in your skincare routine. You only need 1-2 drops per use, rub the drops between your palms to warm the oil, then gently press onto your face. You can also use this oil in other areas where you have dry skin (such as your neck, arms and legs).

DHC olive virgin oilDHC Olive Virgin Oil

I became aware of skincare at a very young age. My Italian mother very own back yard.
I have very dry dehydrated skin, it is exposed to the elements summer and winter. I have been using the DHC Olive Virgin Oil in many ways. They recommend using it as a facial moisturizer, on your hair, face and body.

I found this product to be fantastic. It comes in a 1oz pale green glass bottle with a pump and silver cap. It is filled with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.
I initially started using this on my face 2 pumps warmed in my palms and then pressed into my skin. My skin felt soft, hydrated and smooth. The DHC organic Olive Virgin Oil is rich in anti-oxidants and is 100% certified organic.

I then started to experiment on my hair the ends would get so dry from over processing plus using sprays, mouse, curling irons, blow dryers you name it I use it.
I pumped about a drop or so onto my palms rubbing it with my fingertips I then applied it on the split ends and a smidgen thru my hair strands. It gave my hair a soft gentle sheen not greasy. My hair drank it up almost immediately.

I was amazed how good it made my hair look instantly. I now use it as a treatment before showering and shampooing.

Life is weird.  It just is, let’s face it.  I was speaking to my office mate Amy a few weeks ago about an interesting skin care regime her daughter was trying, using oils as a cleanser.  I was intrigued, and wondered how using oils could effectively cleanse your skin.  Although using oils would of course be the ultimate in all-natural skin care, would it leave my already shiny forehead a grease pit?? Could just oil effectively cleanse my skin, removing dirt and excess oil?? So funny that within the week I was introduced to the Boots Botanics line.  And now I am a believer.

Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm is the coolest, and most effective all natural facial cleanser I have tried to date.  Packaged in a 2oz jar, this product upon first view looks like refrigerated olive oil.  It is literally made of organic oils. Super simple ingredients such as Olive oil, Jojoba oil, Shea butter, Sweet almond oil, Rose seed oil, Geranium flower oil, Bergamot fruit oil and Lemon oil make up this great cleanser, which is 97% organic.  Included with your jar of fabulous cleanser, is a super handy muslin cloth.

Boots Botanics Organic Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm 4.14.14 Certified Fabulous 2

Directions state to massage the Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm all over your face and neck. I must say, at first this was a weird experience.  I am used to a foaming cleanser. Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm applies as solid oil, and initially the greasy feeling is quite bizarre, although not unpleasant.  Directions the tell you to soak the muslin cloth in warm water, and apply as a compress over face and neck to draw out impurities.  I must say, the sensation of the warm cloth over the oil was amazing; the fragrance of this balm is entirely soothing.  I was extremely impressed at the ease in removing the balm from my face.  Using the muslin cloth to massage the balm off helps to exfoliate the skin.  The directions then advise to soak the cloth in cool water and apply as a compress to close pores.  I was amazed at how soft and smooth my skin felt after completing this simple routine.  I noticed immediately my complexion appeared smoother and brighter.  I felt as though the oils were truly able to effectively cleanse my skin, removing dirt and oil, without drying my skin out.    I am sold, and am ditching my standard foaming cleanser which always seems to leave my face tight and dry.  Boots Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm left my skin feeling clean, but soft, supple and smooth.  Love it!!

This week we have had the outstanding pleasure to review a skin care line that I fell in love with. PRIMAVERA offers certified natural skincare and aromatherapy products that hold the purest joys of nature. Rooted in the philosophy that every day is a chance to bring nature closer – to discover balance with the outside world and the world within – PRIMAVERA’s mission is to share the skin and sensory benefits of healing plants. That mission statement is taken from their website, www.primaveralife.com, and they go on to say that they "developed a deep, collective understanding of traditional plant therapy and created fair trade partnerships with a worldwide community of organic farmers. Our products are intended to connect customers with nature every day because we believe that feeling close to nature creates a sense of balance. Just as the Earth regulates seasons, life cycles and ecosystems, nature regulates the rhythms of our own bodies and minds. As our tagline – Pure nature. Perfect balance. – implies, by allowing pure nature to be part of daily life, we are also inviting the opportunity to discover perfect balance.".

04172013 Primavera intensive renewing cream

A company with that message made me feel completely at home with the brand and this was before I tried the skincare line! I was given the Rose Pomegranate Intensive Renewing Cream from their Revitalizing skincare line and right away the scent caught my attention. It smelled amazing! I was glad this was a product I was going to be keeping on my face and not washing off :) After I cleansed my skin thoroughly that night I applied the renewing cream to my face and loved how easily it smoothed over my skin and then eventually was absorbed leaving my with instant hydration. When I woke up the next day and checked out my complexion I was amazed at how well it looked in just one night! My overall skin was in top shape with more of an even tone and texture leaving it in perfect condition for my makeup application.

As I continued use of the cream I saw more and more improvements which is always a plus when you invest in a skin care line. Made to help lift and firm, delivering antioxidants to increase elasticity for more youthful skin, this product is something I can not live without!

Boosted with Benefits!!!

Hey everyone,

This week is all about one of my favorite topics again. No, not presents, it is my hair. As some of you might frizzy blond baby hairknow by now I have nice long, blond and wavy hair. Unfortunately it is also very frizzy. So I was on the lookout for something to eliminate that. I have tried lots of products over the years and especially at this time a year, when the weather is cold and wet, my hair is frizzy and static.

My co-worker suggested I should use the Moroccanoil. And since I had only heard great things about it I went for it. And I have to say it is so simple and I love it.

How to use it?

Well just follow your usual routine when washing your hair and towel dry it. Then spray about 4-5 pumps throughout your hair and style as normal. The first thing you will notice is the fresh smell when you apply it. It also helps to comb through your hair amazingly. And I have to admit it does what it promises, my hair is a lot less frizzy than normal even though it gets put to a tough test with all the snow out there.

Japanese Mint Oil an amazing alternative to conventional medicine

This week’s topic is one of my all time favorites. It is Aromatherapy. I definitely don’t refuse medication where needed but I do prefer to use alternatives if possible. Aromatherapy is well known since the ancient times when people used aromatic oils. Many of them have been described as a huge help when healing respiratory infections, congestions or simply for general massage, baths, compresses or therapeutic skin care.

Fall and Winter is Flue season. Being a new mom I always have to be prepared. Japanese mint oil is something that I always have at my house. I usually use “Knufinke – Japanisches Heilpflanzenoel”. Never heard of it? Well those of you who have been following my blogs might know that I grew up in Germany. And Japanese mint oil was something my mom always had handy as well. Still today there is a small bottle in every other care package. So what does it do and when do I use it? Just last weekend for example my daughter, who is at daycare, came home with a cold. Her nose was running constantly, she had a hard time breathing and as soon as I laid her down to sleep she started coughing and didn’t stop. So I boiled up some hot water, and added about 3 drops of Japanese mint oil and it took minutes for her to stop coughing and fall asleep. By inhaling the peppermint oil, her nose cleared immediately and it helped her to get a good night’s sleep.

Besides the use for respiratory tract problems like common colds, cough, bronchitis and a sore throat a lot of people also use Japanese mint oil for various digestive complaints including poor appetite, nausea or to wind down such common issues as headaches or sensitivity to weather changes.

If you do want to give it a try as well follow the below link and it will bring you to Rodler mint oil. This has the same ingredients as the one I have been using and is available in the US.
