Anyone with dry and sensitive skin knows that a good moisturizer is hard to find. It is because of this difficult task that I have moved towards using more natural ingredients and focusing on oils to help my skin get the nutrients it needs. Needless to say I was very excited about the Honey Touch body cream by Rituals as it has Indian Rose and Himalaya Honey. In addition to it being a rich and nourishing body cream it smells absolutely amazing. I don’t know if it’s because of my exhausting work week or the fact that after my showers I have been applying this cream, that makes me sleep better. It actually says on the Rituals website that this product “combines the ancient Ayurvedic ingredients Himalayan Honey, the perfect skin softener, and Indian Rose for its relaxing effect on body and mind.” So there it is, the explanation for my relaxing feeling when using this body cream, almost guaranteed to make you feel like you've taken a trip to the spa.
The other thing I will mention about this cream is that it wasn't as thick as I expected, which is a good thing. When I opened it up the white cream looks very thick, making me think that I would be spending a lot of time rubbing the cream into my skin, like SPF 75 sun tan lotion makes you do. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this body cream rubs into your skin quite nicely and makes it feel very moisturized right after. It’s almost the perfect combination: it moisturizes well, smells absolutely divine, and you don’t have to use that much of it!
I also want to mention that on the website it states that “Ancient Ayurvedic science shows that massaging your body daily (with cream) strengthens the skin and harmonizes the mind. In addition it increases the blood circulation, which promotes an overall skin glow.”
To be perfectly honest, I don’t know a lot about “Ancient Ayurvedic science,” heck, I don’t even know if I could say that word out loud. But, from my personal experience, I will say that using this body cream for the past week after my nightly shower has immensely helped me to relax before bed. And as we all know, with our busy work lives and on-the-go attitudes it can be very difficult to shut your brain off once the lights go out. But perhaps the lesson here is to take the time to pamper yourself a little bit. Believe me, I’m a very tall woman and deciding to apply body cream to my 6’2 frame is no small feat; but after witnessing it’s affect on my sleep, I have to say I’m hooked. The Indian Rose smell is incredibly relaxing that I almost feel like my mini spa session is needed every night, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing....
