If you're looking for a few essential makeup products to finish the summer with a fresh look and take with you into the fall, L'Oreal has just the items for a simple and beautiful look: Magic Skin Anti-Redness BB Cream, Miss Manga Mascara, and the Glossy Balm.

Loreal magic skin beautifier bb cream

During the summer months, and yes it still is summer (August is not over yet!), I don't typically don't wear foundation as it feels too heavy on my skin. Instead, I use either a tinted moisturizer or a BB/CC Cream - these are great for light coverage and a fresh-faced look. L'Oreal offers a few BB Creams, one of which is the Magic Skin Beautifier Anti-Redness BB Cream. So how does it work? This BB Cream includes "Beautifying Beads" that are encapsulated with color-transforming pigments that counteract redness. It starts out green and as you apply (or even rub in your hand), it transforms to a universal skin tone shade that reduces the look of redness, which is pretty neat to watch! On top of the anti-redness benefits, this BB also works to even skin tone and hydrate for a smooth, bare finish. Just for fair warning, although it is pretty cool to see this BB transform to a universal shade, I would be tentative to use it if you have fair skin. My skin is quite fair and the shade was a little too dark for my preference. Other than that, this BB cream is lightweight and perfect for warmer weather.

Really want to illuminate your eyes? COVERGIRL has some great new products that will have you feeling red hot far past the end of summer! I tried out a few of these new releases, and they are awesome additions to my make up routine - especially when it comes to the eyes!

Covergirl Ink It Eyeliner 8.11.13 Certified FabulousCovergirl Blazing White Shadow Pot 8.11.13 Certified FabulousWith new shadow, liner, and mascara, I was able to easily step up my eye makeup for a bolder, more noticeable look. The COVERGIRL ink it! Silver Ink All Day Eye Pencil has a rich saturated, metallic silver that goes on smoothly. This silver will really help brighten any dark eye makeup while maintaining a smoky, sultry look. The COVERGIRL ink it! eye pencils are all self sharpening, and waterproof, allowing for a no hassle application, and a no worry wear! This silver really stands out, so start small and build your look!

Another key product in brightening your eyes is the COVERGIRL Blazing White Shadow Pot! I have been looking for a product like this! I needed just a white shadow in it's own container that I can take with me and combine with my other makeup. I love using white shadow in the corner of my eyes, to really brighten them, and to blend with other eye shadow for a highlighting effect. This small step will help achieve, brighter, wider eyes! This Shadow Pot is part of the COVERGIRL Flamed Out Collection, which will give you the latest, red hot makeup looks!

Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara 8.11.13 Certified FabulousThe last step in my eye makeup routine, is my mascara. Mascaras can be tricky, and there are so many out there to choose from! But when looking for a mascara, really read what the product is aiming to do, lengthen, add volume, no-clump, etc. and choose the one that your lashes need the most! I've had good luck with COVERGIRL mascaras in the past. They come out with great options at an affordable price. So I had high hopes when I went to try the COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara MAX Volume (also part of the COVERGIRL Flamed Out Collection). Although, I will admit, I was a little tentative to try this bold volumizing mascara due to the thickness and the curvy brush. I didn't want a clumpy mess on my lashes. But I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome! This mascara has a thick formula that plumps up your lashes for a bold, high volume look. Although it's thick, it does set fast, allowing for a smudge free application! I usually need to take a Q-tip and clean up some mascara smudges, but I did not have that problem with this mascara! This mascara is also flake resistant, good for long wear.

Covergirl Glosstinies Pink Lady 8.11.13Another new COVERGIRL release? They now offer COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis in miniature bottles! These small bottles allow you to try numerous colors without having a large amount of nail polish left over. These are also great to travel with - you can touch up any time without the bottle taking up much space! I was also impressed with how well this nail polish went on. I only needed one application, it dried quickly and has a lovely high gloss! It is also chip resistant, good to last for 7 days. I tried the Pink Lady and Sangria, great to alternate on your nails for a fun, girly, pop of color!

Smashbox Eye Brightening Mascara 6.18We all want photo ready eyes, right? Bright, bold, clear, and noticeable! But with all the different types of mascaras out there, it can be overwhelming to know what type will suit your eyes. Curling, lengthening, volumzing, waterproof, etc...how does a girl choose?? Well, hopefully I can give you a little insight on a great mascara and help ease the selection process.

Smashbox’s Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara is my new go-to mascara. This is a 3-in-1 mascara that curls, lifts, and brightens giving you that wide-eyed look you love! It has a blend of mica, titanium, and blue pigments to enhance the whites of your eyes and brighten to create that open-eyed effect. This mascara hit a number of marks for me, as I said, it’s my new go-to! I cannot stand mascara that smudges, flakes, clumps, or is too stubborn to take off at the end of a long day/night. But this Smashbox mascara was a much-needed relief from my mascara woes. It goes on clean (no clumps or flakes), really lengthens my lashes, and is long wearing but still comes off easily with makeup remover. It separated my lashes nicely, without clumping them together, and my lashes lifted up well for that wide-eyed look. A great tip from Smashbox: Always apply to the top AND bottom lashes for a totally wide-eyed look. This really made a difference for me, so keep it in mind!

At $20.00 Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara will continue to be a staple in my makeup bag!

Happy Monday Fabulous Readers!

Stacey is one of the many beauties helping out on Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. and today she was ever so inspired to share her favorite buy at Target! She is quite the character in the office and keeps us on our toes and entertained...so please enjoy Stacey's debut contributor article today:

*********************************************

We all wear mascara.  Who can resist a doe-eyed look??  Mascara helps mimic neotny, namely large eyes. The same basic elements are used to make up all mascaras; pigmentation, oils and waxes. When applied to the lash, these elements pull the lash away from the rim of the eye, creating a doe-like illusion of larger, more open eyes.  Wide eyes are culturally equated with youth, which is why women have been adorning their eyes and lashes since as far back as Ancient Egypt.

The product we know as mascara today was developed in the early 1900s, around the time of the invention of petroleum jelly.  A chemist named Eugene Rimmel (sound familiar), developed the first modern form of mascara.  Around the same time a man named T.L. Williams developed a remarkably similar product with his sister Mabel.  The product became so popular, T.L Williams started a mail order company from the product which grew to become the company Maybelline.
