As many of you might have heard, the Pantone Color of 2014 has been announced - Radiant Orchid. To celebrate the new color of the year,  I wanted to dedicate a style post with fabulous items all in Radiant Orchid. This was my intention, but it proved a little more difficult for me than I anticipated. Not because there weren't enough options out there, but purple, in many shades & tints, just isn't my color. I don't really wear bright colors, it's just not me. So while I was trying to put a post together, I wasn't liking what I was coming up with. But then I realized I wasn't approaching this in a way that I can offer any good advice on the color. So instead, I'm showing you a style idea in a sense that I might wear it. I wear a lot of black, it's almost like my power color, but while having said that, I am all for the pops of color in an outfit! So this is how I will approach Radiant Orchid in 2014, with pops of color. Even though the Radiant Orchid may seem a bit overwhelming for a few of you, no need to shy away from the color this year. There are still many ways you can incorporate pieces into your style. And hey, don't get me wrong, if you can rock out all shades of Radiant Orchid, go for it! But here is one style suggestion for those like me, who need to ease into the new color for 2014.

Radiant Orchid

I stayed with my basic black for a shirt & clutch. But then I found this awesome skirt on Piperlime that patterns dark blue, black, and radiant orchid. So the basic outfit is rather dark, but throw on those bright shoes from J.Crew and you'll really have your pop of color that ties in well with the skirt. Softer small studs from Kate Spade complete the radiant orchid touches in this outfit from head to toe!

2. Piperlime Tinley Road Textured Feather Print Skirt $44.97

Snow days are one of the best days. The day where you were planning on getting all of this stuff done, going here and there, or just going to work, and then surprise! you don't have to! It's like waking up on a Saturday and you jump awake thinking you're late for work, but then you realize it IS Saturday and you can go back to sleep. It's the little things. So for the perfect snow day lounging around at home, all you need is your most comfiest clothes! Ones that you can curl up in and watch a movie, read a book, and watch the snow softly falling outside. For Jessica's snow day attire, she wore one of her favorite comfortable red sweatpants, and a warm & relaxed grey top. Add on a scarf to stay toasty warm inside!
