Tips for tri-look ponytail:

1. Curl hair with a wide-barrel curling iron or opt for a straighter yet full pony by blow drying hair with a large round brush.

2. Slightly tease hair at the top of head to give the style some height.

3. On one side of the head create anywhere from 1-3 small braids, incorporating the hair along your scalp as you braid(similar to a French braid-style, you want the braids to be against your head). Secure each braid with a clear elastic to later be pulled into the pony.

4. Gather hair into pony with all of the braids in it and secure with a clear hair elastic.

Ponytails are a staple whether your hair is shorter or really long, there is a look for everyone one.

Short, Low Ponytail

With so many people chopping their long locks into textured shoulder length or above, bobs this year, the short low ponytail is a fashion staple.

  • Start with 'lived-in' hair as this will give you better control of your hair. You can add some texture powder or dry shampoo to create volume and texture to your hair so it doesn't look so flat to your head.
  • Create a low side or center part and gather tight into the nape. The key here is to keep it really low to be effective.
  • Let some stray pieces fall gently around your face or keep it smooth and sleek.

Look 1

Lizzie liros look 1Step 1 Prepare hair by spraying with White Sands Undercover Blow-Waving Lotion. Dry hair upside down to give maximum root life.

Step 2 Whilst head is upside down, tease entire head of hair as much as possible.

Step 3 After teasing and whilst still upside down, place an elastic on the ends of the hair to create what looks like a little pony. Ensure the front section of hair is pulled directly back away from the face.

Step 4 Flip head upright so that the ponytail now looks like a cone.

When I started dress shopping for my wedding, one question that came up again and again as I tried on dresses was, “What kind of veil do you want?” To be honest, the question always caught me off guard because I knew there was only one answer: “It depends on the dress!” Your entire wedding look, including your jewelry, veil and wedding hairstyle, should absolutely match with the wedding dress you pick! So how can you match your hairstyle to your wedding dress? Don’t fret, we’ve got some great tips on coordinating your hairstyle to your wedding dress with ease.

Backless Dress
Backless wedding dresses are very on trend. And whether it’s completely open in the back, partially so or just the illusion of an open back with lace detailing, you’ll likely want to show off that sexy back! Consider an updo for your wedding day hairstyle to give your back the spotlight. If you aren’t feeling an updo but still want something that’s flattering, you can also try a longer hairstyle where your hair is pulled and styled to the front and side. Think: An ultra glamorous low side pony with curls.

One-Shoulder Gown
A one-shoulder gown is great for showing off fabulous arms and a little skin, so don’t have your hair covering that up! A half-up half-down wedding hairstyle is a great way to balance off this asymmetrical look. If your wedding is a bit on the formal side, an updo works really well with this look, too. And since the focus on the gown is showing off the shoulder, you can also rest assured that just about any veil length works.

Strapless/Sweetheart Dress
Strapless and sweetheart-neck dresses are still some of the most popular wedding dress styles. The good news is, they not only flatter just about every figure, they work with just about any hairstyle, too! If you are having a church ceremony or concerned about showing too much skin, consider a long hairstyle instead of a half-up or formal updo.

Casual/Beachy Dresses
If you are having a beach wedding or a more casual affair, embrace the afternoon vibe with a non-fussy look. Long hair styled in beachy waves or even loose braids and half-up half-down looks are perfect for beach weddings. This is one look where you’ll want to avoid the formal updo and have fun with your wedding day hairstyle.

Whether or not you decide you’ll be determining your bridesmaids’ hairstyles is a pretty personal decision. After all, you’ll have to weigh the many pros and cons: On the one hand, you’ll get exactly what you want but on the other hand, you may end up upsetting a friend who has something else in mind. It’s definitely a delicate subject and one you should handle carefully. But, if yourbridesmaids are open to a little input, we have a few ideas on navigating this tricky territory.

1. Consider Your Friends’ Styles

The first thing you should take into account is each of your friends’ personalities and their current hairstyles. A bridesmaid with long locks, for example, will probably be more open to a half up, half down hairdo than one with very short hair to play with. If she’s open to suggestions, give her a few ideas on hairstyles that you think suit her personal style and personality. You wouldn’t want to put your most laid back friend in a stuffy French twist she’ll be uncomfortable in all night.

1. Change Your Part - The quickest, easiest way to update your hairstyle would be to part your hair on the side rather than in the middle. It gives you a completely different look without compromising length.

2. Accessorize - Add a little fashion pizzazz by embellishing your head with an accessory such as a head scarf or hair pins.

3. Add Beach Waves - Go to sleep with your hair in a wet, high bun.  Once you wake up, remove the elastic band to let hair down. Generously apply a beach wave spray such as Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray and scrunch hair. This will help add volume and texture to the hair.

4. Pin Bangs Back - As your bangs start to grow out, and you're trying to stretch out your next hair appointment, you can either bobby pin them straight back or to the side. It will give you a more polished look.

5. High Bun - In the summer season, the heat tends to cause slow movements and the only thing on our minds is the beach. Quickly throw your head forward, and whip your hair in a bun and you are ready to catch some waves!
