For years, I struggled with skin issues and in the past year and a half I've finally overcome my blemishes and have clear skin. But now my new skin obsession has begun and I’m on a never-ending quest for more radiant skin.

I've found a few miraculous serums that have definitely helped me to achieve that lit from within glow but have yet to find the ideal exfoliant. Exfoliating is the key to sloughing off dull skin cells and unveiling the radiant skin underneath so you can imagine my frustration when the scrubs I was trying weren't doing the trick.

Having given up I settled for my Clarisonic, which I use three times a week to exfoliate. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my Clarisonic, but using it daily is too harsh for my sensitive skin even with the sensitive skin brushes.

amarte exfolipowder skincare certified fabulous

Enter the Amarté ExfoliPowder. At first I was a bit hesitant to give it a try. The fact that the exfoliator came in powdered form worried me. It brought me back to elementary school art class and all I could think was Powder + Water = Paste. But I was wrong and pleasantly surprised. The texture is creamy once activated with water and works up to a luxurious lather.

Summer beauty is all about that glowing look! We all want soft, silky, radiant skin! But for some of us pale ones, it can be a little harder to achieve the sun-kissed glowing confidence. That's where makeup comes in! I'll admit I don't use bronzer often; I feel that most of them look unnatural on my skin, but with the right type of face powder, I can have that radiant summer look in no time!

Too Faced Sweetheart Beads 7.16.13 bCertified FabulousWhen I first saw Too Faced's Sweetheart Beads Radiant Glow Face Powder I was very intrigued...not by the colors it contained, but how it was packaged. In a round, prettily decorated, container loosely sits heart shaped powder beads! Bronze, pink, natural, and golden beads! How do I use this? Was my first question...then does it work? What's the ultimate effect? Do I use the colors together? Separately? With a brush? Many questions followed as I had never seen this type of makeup before! I decided this would be best used with a brush, after all it is a powder. So I tried a blush brush - this was a little too weak to pick up the color. So next, I found that it works best with a brush that is a little firmer. I used a Chisel brush that I have for another powder foundation. Too Faced offers a few brushes on their website and tell you which one works best for the type of product you want to use, so if you need any brush suggestions, be sure to check out their site!

Since I didn't really know how to use this product, I looked it up. The product descriptions states that "the heart bead colors work together to create the perfect combination of color, coverage and glow for a healthy radiance." So I started by swirling my brush around all the beads. No need to be gentle with the brush, these beads don't crumble! You need a little firmness to pick up the color. I used this powder all around my face, focusing more on my cheeks. It creates a very light shimmery layer, which is nice for just a little hint of the desired summer glow. The shimmer really stands out when you catch the light! But it also can easily build up to a stronger glow by applying more powder. I like having this type of control with my makeup. I can build it up as much or as little as I like, depending on my mood. This powder is very easy to use (once I got past the bead shock), and it definitely gave my pale skin a much needed glowing enhancement, very much so the "healthy radiance" the product description states. I also liked how it was elegantly shimmery rather than sparkly. I did not want to look like I brushed pink sparkles all over my face! I was surprised by how much I like this product, how well it blended, how the colors work so well together, and how the effect was spot on with the description. This will be my go to makeup product on those bleak days when my skin needs more of a pick me up and a healthy glow boost!
