I'm already a fan of Guerlain due to their magnificent Nail Colour Lacquer, so I had high expectations when I tried more Guerlain products. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
The GUERLAIN Abeille Royale Night Cream was the first of their skincare products that I have tried. I love night creams in general; I always need to apply something after a cleanser just before I sleep. I absolutely love the scent of this cream! It's that kind of powdery clean, a classy and timeless scent that is not at all overpowering. The cream is rich, but not too thick and not greasy - it's the right about of weight for a night cream. This cream helps reduce the signs of fatigue, fill out wrinkles, and give skin firmer texture. Made with Pure Royal Concentrate (extracted from Bee products) and enriched with Royal Jelly, this cream will help renew and firm your skin during the night. But what exactly is Royal Jelly? What I find really interesting about Royal Jelly is that it cannot be duplicated in a lab - it has to be hand harvested from beehives1! In a bee hive, one bee is chosen to feed on Royal Jelly (while other bees feed on honey and pollen) and this chosen bee grows into the Queen Bee2. Royal Jelly's availability is rather limited compared to other ingredients, so it seems suiting that Guerlain (as an established and - in my opinion- a timeless brand) would use such a precious ingredient.
From skincare, I then tried a couple of Guerlian makeup products. The first is GUERLAIN Ecrin 2 Couleurs Colour Fusion Eyeshadows Vibrant Effects (08 Two Spicy). The packaging of this product is incredible. I take it everywhere with me just because I love the look and the mirror so much. It's small enough it slip into any purse, and it comes in a black velvet pouch that protects it from scratches and marks. I looks so beautiful that I love pulling it out to touch up any makeup I may be wearing. I still can't get over how beautiful it is. But onto the actual makeup inside! These two shadows are the perfect warm colors for this fall! The highly pigmented matte brown is a great base color - the warmth of the brown is really emphasized when combined with the second shadow - a fiery luminous coral. You can apply the matte brown and then layer the glittery coral on top for great dimension and luminous warmth. These colors compliment each other perfectly and really made my eyes stand out in a gentle glow.
