Dark undereye circles truly are a drag.  Some only suffer from this unsightly problem when they are overtired, but not I. I was inherited my saggy bags from my mother, the dear.  So whenever a product comes through Certified Fabulous' door that claims to help with this problem, I am always all over it. This month the product is Orico London’s High Rise Rejuvenating Eye Elixir. I tried, I liked, and now Im going to tell you why.

Orico London Rejuvenating Eye Elixir 6.24The ingredient list for this product is what impressed me first and foremost. Orico uses high quality organic ingredients in this delightful under eye cream. Botanical Moringa proteins purify and pollution-proof skin for radiant glow. Rhodiola Rosea (Golden Root) extract from a plant that can only be found in cold regions of the world such as Serbia serves as the bioactive in this product which helps to energize and moisturize the eye area, reducing puffiness and dark circles. Aloe Vera provides the nice cooling sensation I experienced upon application. I love that most of the ingredients in this product have organic origins as well.

I also love how Orico clinically tests their bioactives in the products by independent labs through clinical trials. I think that when companies do this, it is a true testimony to the effectiveness of their product.  It is easy to claim that something is great, but when resources are placed into proving these claims, that’s a huge testimony to the brands integrity. In a 4 week in-vivo study of 17 females with under eye puffiness, the active was applied twice daily and the results were:

- 64% of panelists observed a reduced appearance of darkness under the eyes and also an improvement in overall appearance.

- 60% of panelists observed reduced under eye sag and improvements in skin radiance.

Happy Monday Fabulous Readers!

Stacey is one of the many beauties helping out on Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. and today she was ever so inspired to share her favorite buy at Target! She is quite the character in the office and keeps us on our toes and entertained...so please enjoy Stacey's debut contributor article today:

We all wear mascara.  Who can resist a doe-eyed look??  Mascara helps mimic neotny, namely large eyes. The same basic elements are used to make up all mascaras; pigmentation, oils and waxes. When applied to the lash, these elements pull the lash away from the rim of the eye, creating a doe-like illusion of larger, more open eyes.  Wide eyes are culturally equated with youth, which is why women have been adorning their eyes and lashes since as far back as Ancient Egypt.

The product we know as mascara today was developed in the early 1900s, around the time of the invention of petroleum jelly.  A chemist named Eugene Rimmel (sound familiar), developed the first modern form of mascara.  Around the same time a man named T.L. Williams developed a remarkably similar product with his sister Mabel.  The product became so popular, T.L Williams started a mail order company from the product which grew to become the company Maybelline.

An Eye Primer's goal is to set the stage on your eye for your eye make-up to be applied.  Just like you would use a Primer or foundation for your face, it covers blemishes.  A lot of people have veins, imperfections, marks, freckles, broken capillaries, etc around their eye area.  The biggest culprit around the eye area tends to be dark circles under the eyes.

Eye primers which mostly consist of silicone and pigment can be your answer to erasing all of those concerns you have around your eyes and even filling in those fine lines and wrinkles. Now some eye primers can only be used on the lid and some are designed for under the eye.  I personally prefer when a primer can be used for both.

I was lucky enough to be given a Lolade Cosmetics Professional Eye and Lip primer.  This is an awesome primer.  I have to say, I am so super picky when it comes to eye primers.  This primer is soft to the touch and easy to gently pat around my eyes.  After application I was left with smooth skin.  My dark circles had vanished and my lid was ready for make-up.  My make-up applied flawlessly and stayed put all day!  Job well done primer!

To use an eye primer- Pat the product onto the skin around your eye with your ring finger!!!! Do not rub or pull around your eyes. Always test the product on another part of your body first to make sure you are not going to have a negative reaction, when trying any new product for the first time :)

Say goodbye to creases of powder in/on your lids :)

Happy New Year Everyone!

What’s your New Years resolution? Maybe work less, spend more time at the Gym or make sure you never miss any of our certified fabulous beauty reviews? Whatever it is I wish you all the best to never lose them out of sight! I hope you all had a great New Years Eve! Most of you probably partied until late into the night and morning. Now it is even more important to make sure we find some kind of miracle to let other people see we are fresh and sparkly and ready to start 2013.

My advice is the Jumbo Eye Pencil by NYX! It is a radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eye shadow. Made NYXwith a blend of mineral oil and powder they are easy to apply. There is no pulling at all, very soft and almost like drawing on a piece of paper with a marker.

Depending on your skin type NYX has a great variety of colors to offer. Because I am still in the Holiday spirit I chose the “Cashmere” and “pure gold” colors. The “Cashmere” is a little lighter and might look very, very good on a very light skin tone. Mine is a little darker and I think the “pure gold” is the perfect eye Make-Up for my New Years Day!

If you have had enough of the Holiday season then just switch to one of the other amazing colors. No matter if “Purple Velvet”, a light “Lavender” or dark “Iced Mocha”. If you are very brave you might even try the color that’s called “French Fries” which is a shimmery light silver-gold tone. have fun experimenting!

Hello Fabulous Readers!

I hope you all had a good holiday and the chaos is over for you. Maybe some of still have family to visit or things to return, but hopefully you find some time to relax and get ready for the new year!

2012 was a very exciting time for fashion and cosmetics and even me, the makeup freak, was surprised with what this year brought and it felt like a whole new adventure! We saw a lot of color for Spring and Summer and bold lips were my trend obsession, followed by dramatic rosy cheeks with natural makeup and "Pop of Color" for eye makeup.

Now my term "Pop of Color" has now been a staple in my everyday makeup and even inspired a lot of my fashion. I have so many Pop of Color ideas I think I have to make YouTube episodes on my makeup tutorials just to show you :) Anyway, I have done major experimenting with eye color cosmetics and I have found that I can pretty much wear any color...the right way. Warmer colors are not my ideal makeup match but I use it minimally when I match warm clothing colors I am wearing. For example, if I am wearing a melon color shirt I will do my makeup mostly natural except for my bottom lid, I will line the waterline with a black liner. After I take my warm, coral colored eye shadow from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: BURNING TRUE CORAL SHIMMER and sweep it under the liner. If I want it to show up bolder I simply wet the tiny shadow brush and dip it in the shadow and apply.

Hello everyone,

Now that this week is Anti-Aging and Collagen topic I choose to tell you about my experience with the Regenerist Anti-Aging Eye Roller by Olay and how it promises to immediately reduce under-eye puffiness! And I have to admit, yes, they are right!

I am a new mom and my daughter does not yet sleep through the night. Right now she is teething so last night she kept me up from midnight to 5am. When my alarm went off this morning, yes she of course slept in after being up all night, I just wanted to hide and not go out of my house because I didn’t want people to think I was wearing my Halloween mask already.

Unfortunately I have pretty sensitive skin. I tried a lot of different products but usually just ended up covering my dark circles with lots of concealer and powder. Then I tried the Olay anti-aging eye roller and I love it. I apply it every single morning after I get up. The first thing I noticed was that it has an amazing cooling effect. On top of that Olay was smart enough to not have a crème but create a roller! When I apply the cool concentrate in the morning, I honestly have to be careful to not fall back asleep. It is just sooo relaxing. It feels like a gentle massage that reduces the puffiness immediately.

All in all I can say I will definitely keep using this product for many more sleepless nights. :)
