I am quite the fan of DHC. The well known DHC Deep Cleansing Oil has me hooked and I always enjoy the opportunity to try more products from the brand. I recently tried the DHC Olive Essentials Set - a perfect gift set or addition to your own beauty collection. This set includes the wonderful Deep Cleansing Oil, DHC Mild Soap, DHC Mild Lotion & DHC Olive Virgin Oil. The four-step skin care set gives you the perfect tools for a cleaner, calmer, moisturized complexion through pure, organic olive oil.

Start your skincare routine with the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - Deep Cleanse/Remove Makeup. DHC Olive Essentials SetThis oil thoroughly cleanses and removes makeup while managing to leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized at the same time. This cleanser is also fantastic at removing eye makeup; it easily takes care of my stubborn mascara and eyeliner without irritating my eyes. Using this cleanser is a little different than your typical cleanser as you apply it to your dry skin; dispense into dry hands and massage onto dry face. This will dissolve makeup and other impurities. Rinse thoroughly. You may be thinking that since this is an oil it will be difficult to rinse...quite the opposite. When the oil comes in contact with water, it breaks down and rinses easily leaving your skin soft and never oily.

The second step in this skincare set is to Wash with the DHC Mild Soap. Wet face with lukewarm water and lather in palms, then massage face with the foam to cleanse. Rinse thoroughly. This soap lathers really well and does not feel drying.

Third step...Tone with the DHC Mild Lotion. After washing your face and patting dry, apply this toner to skin with hands or DHC Silky Cotton. I like the texture of this toner, it's like a soft liquid that absorbs well into your skin.

Final step, Moisturize with the DHC Olive Virgin Oil. Use this day and night as your final step in your skincare routine. You only need 1-2 drops per use, rub the drops between your palms to warm the oil, then gently press onto your face. You can also use this oil in other areas where you have dry skin (such as your neck, arms and legs).

DHC olive virgin oilDHC Olive Virgin Oil

I became aware of skincare at a very young age. My Italian mother very own back yard.
I have very dry dehydrated skin, it is exposed to the elements summer and winter. I have been using the DHC Olive Virgin Oil in many ways. They recommend using it as a facial moisturizer, on your hair, face and body.

I found this product to be fantastic. It comes in a 1oz pale green glass bottle with a pump and silver cap. It is filled with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.
I initially started using this on my face 2 pumps warmed in my palms and then pressed into my skin. My skin felt soft, hydrated and smooth. The DHC organic Olive Virgin Oil is rich in anti-oxidants and is 100% certified organic.

I then started to experiment on my hair the ends would get so dry from over processing plus using sprays, mouse, curling irons, blow dryers you name it I use it.
I pumped about a drop or so onto my palms rubbing it with my fingertips I then applied it on the split ends and a smidgen thru my hair strands. It gave my hair a soft gentle sheen not greasy. My hair drank it up almost immediately.

I was amazed how good it made my hair look instantly. I now use it as a treatment before showering and shampooing.

For the new year you'll want to kick it off well, stick to those resolutions and prepare for the year ahead. But you may still be reeling from the craziness of the holidays. So before you embrace the new year and kick start into your resolutions, take a moment to relax and breathe. If you can't carve out separate time for relaxation beauty, I have few great products that offer that deep luxurious clean feeling that will fit right into your everyday routine!

DHC Scalp Massage ResizeThe first is the DHC Scalp Massage Pack. This product is one of my new favorites, and one of my winter must haves. If your winter has been anywhere near as harsh as Maine's you're probably searching for the healing, hydrating & renewing products. This DHC Scalp Massage Pack is a weekly purifying mask that will energize your scalp, remove product build up, excess oil, and will also revive dull hair & deep condition for soft, shiny, healthier locks. With the harsh cold weather, my scalp has been especially dry and in need of some intense repair. This scalp massage with natural clays and botanicals leaves my scalp feeling clean, conditioned and hydrated. Even though this product includes natural clays (which may sound odd for a hair treatment), it is very creamy and works easily into your scalp. But what really got me attached to this product is how silky smooth, soft, and I mean really soft, and sleek my hair was after using this. And that was just after one use. With 5 botanicals - shea butter, macadamia, avocado, olive & algea extract my hair and scalp felt renewed and revived. Dealing with dead ends and a dry scalp, this is my winter must have hair product! Another great aspect, you can easily incorporate this into your hair care routine; simply shampoo and gently massage into your hair & scalp with your fingertips, leave in for five minutes, then rinse thoroughly. No need to use your regular conditioner. Use this massage pack 1-2 times per week, but it can also be used daily.

DHC Deep CleansingThe second product up on this list is the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - DHC's most popular product worldwide and a Certified Fabulous Seal of Approval winner. This cleanser will easily, and thoroughly take care of dirt, excess oil, makeup...and yes even that tricky waterproof mascara. Even more, this cleansing oil will leave your skin soft with no grease residue thanks to its unique water-soluble formula. I was truly shocked at how well I could rinse the cleanser, for a soft, clean & hydrated complexion with no oily residue left on my skin. This product provides that deep clean (a truly thorough & hydrating cleanser) without adding another step to your skincare routine.

If you're looking to combat aging in your relaxation beauty this month, DHC also offers products with CoEnzyme Q10, "an antioxidant nutrient essential for cellular energy production" (DHC). Two products with this anti-aging ingredient are the DHC CoEnzyme Q10 Quick Gel Brightening Moisture & the DHC CoEnzyme Q10 Washing Cream

DHC CoEnzyme Q10 Brightening Gel and Washing CreamAt the start of your skincare routine, you'll want to use the Washing Cream. This cleanser lathers well into a thin, moisturizing foam that will effectively cleanse your skin leaving a smooth, nourished, and more youthful complexion.

Hey Everyone and welcome to another Friday.  If you haven't noticed this is our first week of our new blog format.  My job as the packaging diva is to talk to you guys about how the bottle or tube functions, why a company would choose a certain pump or maybe the message that they are trying to convey with their choice of packaging.

DHC PoreCeansingOil

So this week we've all been discussing products from DHC.  Let me begin by saying their packaging choices are very classic and sleek. They have just released two new products that Certified Fabulous was lucky enough to be one of the first to review, Pore Cleansing Oil and Pore Face Wash.  The Pore Pore Cleansing Oil is in a beautiful milky blue bottle that has the appearance of lucite or for some of our seasoned readers, Depression Glass. I love it!  The lucite offers the high end look of glass but without the dangers.  Even the pump matchs the color of the bottle.  But what I really like about the pump is the actuator.  This is the part where the product comes out.  The designers at DHC decided to go with a "gonzo" style pump that has a long actuator and a flat top, which makes it so easy to use.  Sometimes when you have wet hands- which happens ALOT when you're washing your face- some pumps with angled actuators are hard to compress and get the product out.  Instead your finger just slides right off and if you're like me, you lose patience and say a few expletives.  My other favorite part about this package is, it comes with a clip that goes around the neck so that when you pack your over night bag and your shampoo bottle falls on top it doesn't squeeze out all your favorite Pore Cleansing Oil before you get to your destination.  Yes, you can say it, it's the simple, little things that excite me.

The other product that we had the privilage of reviewing was their Pore Face Wash.  This product comes in a squeezable tube.  Now I know what you're going to say, all tubes are created equal.  Negative!  Now I will say that they are not as complicated as bottles, but they still have a lot going on.  Again, the designers did a spectular job at color matching the LDPE (low density polyethlene) tube with the color of the bottle.  Sometimes this can be very difficult because different resins(plastics) react differently with the colorant.  Now one thing I can appreciate about this product, is they were able to orientate the cap with the front of the tube.  What I mean by this, is when you flip open the cap you are still looking at the front of the tube.  To me this is a very classy gesture and I would almost say subliminal marketing because as you are squeezing out the product, you're still looking at the name of the product.  One issue that I have run into with a lot of tubes, is the orifice (the opening where the product comes out) doesn't match the viscosity of the product.  So if you have a very thick cream, you don't want to have a little tiny hole for it come out right?  Think St. Bernard trying to go through the cat door.  Yeah, probably not going to work.  Well you'd be surprised how many products are like that.  But not with DHC, this deliciously creamy cleanser can easily be squeezed out in proper dosage.

DHC PoreFaceWashFinally I have to mention the design of their unit carton.  This has to be one of the most unique designs I have seen in a while.  How many times have you bought a product in a little box and think to yourself, "How do I know if someone has used this product or not?"  I know I have.  Just the other day, I bought some hair color and the little "safety seal" was peeled back.  Not very safe!  With DHC's design there is no way that someone can check out your purchase before you do.  They have designed into the box a little tear tab on the op that is sealed when they package up your product.  Ingenious! And just so you're covered the bottom of the box, is an autobottom.  Which means the bottom of the carton forms automatically when you form the carton.  This assures that that once the product is in the carton, no one can get to it from the bottom without destroying the box.

Hey everyone,

This week I had the honor to try the DHC – BB Cream. When I say honor I truly mean it. As Sara already told you this great product is not on the market yet. It will be available February 1st but the Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. team received it and I was able to try it.

Yesterday, Sara explained what a BB cream is. She liked the DHC BB Cream just as much as I do. bb cream finalI think it works amazingly. My skin tone is very light but unfortunately I have dark circles under my eyes. Having a baby at home, I have a lot of sleepless nights and unfortunately sometimes you can tell in the morning. The DHC BB Cream will be my secret weapon from now on. When I tried the DHC BB Cream I was surprised and realized I only needed this one product to cover my dark circles. It leaves an even skin tone. On top of that it hydrates and protects with broad-spectrum SPF 20. And for $45 it is a pretty good price range considering you don’t need to buy a primer, foundation… anymore.

But as always when you want to buy something you can choose between different price points.
