Palmer's Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner

Palmers Shea Curl shampooShea Butter is one of the most amazing natural ingredients for hair care, skincare and bodycare. I remember the first time I was offered pure Shea Butter, which is goopy green and kind of nasty. I was on the Island of St. John in the Caribbean, 8+ months pregnant. I was literally so pregnant that the day I flew back from this vacation was the last day I was allowed to fly! I was given a jar, a plain, unmarked jar form a local native woman as I was browsing my way through an open market. The native people on the island LOVED pregnant women, I was treated like royalty the entire vacation. She gave me this jar, and promises me that if I “painted” my ever growing number of stretch marks with it, they would disappear. She was right, the raw Shea butter was the most nourishing and healing product I have ever used. Of course, here in the US you can’t readily buy stinky, green, unprocessed Shea butter, but the next best things are products which incorporate this wonderful material.

Palmers Shea curl conditionerPalmer's Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner contain raw, natural Shea Butter which is sustainably sourced in Africa. Shea Butter moisturizes hair deeply and repairs damaged hair. Palmers Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner also contains Vitamin E, which helps to protect hair from damage and is also super nourishing, as well as Grape Seed Oil which is a really great natural oil used to reduce breakage and strengthen the hair. Sulfate-free, and full of natural ingredients, this hair duo is really amazing.

I love the bottle and pump packaging; it makes it really easy to use this product in the shower. My kids can dispense their own shampoo and conditioner without making a mess and using too much, always a big plus for moms who have to clean the tub!! Specially formulated for curly hair, I am in love with the thickness of both the shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt wonderful after using, and I found that because these products are so nourishing, I’m can use them more often. Many times products claiming to be for curly hair are so drying; I can only wash my hair 1-2 times per week (which means wearing a pony tail 2-3 days a week). Palmers Shea Formula Curl Shampoo and Conditioner do not dry out my hair, and leave it soft and silky. This duo also smells AMAZING!! Added bonus!

It's pretty normal for people to test out different shampoos and conditioners. It's a nice way to mix it up and keep things exciting for that nice head of hair you have. Speaking as a woman that used to rock the pixie cut and now having long hair, one thing is absolutely certain: having long hair is HARD. The maintenance! The blow drying! The curling and flat ironing! It takes an irrational amount of time but I've realized that the healthier I keep my hair the easier it gets and that starts in the shower.

I would like to start by saying that Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner come in an amazing bottle that I wish all my shampoos came in, the design they have makes it incredibly easy to get conditioner in the shower. And I know what you're thinking, popping the cap on your conditioner is not that big of a deal and you're right it's not, but there is something about the Aussie bottles that are just super convenient. In short, I'm obsessed and love the bottle. Bonus is that the product inside is just as rave worthy.

I tried the Aussie: 3 minute miracle conditioners for color, shine, and strengthening your strands. All condition extremely well and seem to get the job done. I don't have super damaged hair so I can't say for sure if a certain one had a resounding effect on my mane (I will come to that conclusion at the end of the bottles) but in terms of conditioning effectiveness it got the job done an left my hair feeling quite healthy.

I am the proud mom of a wonderful 6 year old. She is smart and beautiful and I love her to bits. The only problem, she is going to be the pretty popular girl (I was not) once she gets to high school. She is in the first grade and already has a “boyfriend,” has been invited to no less than 15 birthday parties this school year so far, and is a self-described “popular girl.”  With all of this popularity comes the constant attention to detail when it comes to hair/clothes. Fortunately for me, she attends a private school, so its khakis and white polos every day. Because of this fashion conformity, Amelia makes a statement with her ultra-long hair. She loves her long hair and cries when I force her to get a half inch trim. Despite this, she is a typical 6 year old when it comes to the regular brushing needed to maintain this long hair. Thank goodness for Bain de Terre Coconut Papaya Ultra-Hydrating Hair Collection, which has saved her the torture of brushing out the snarls.

Bain de Terre Coconut Papaya Ultra-Hydrating Hair Collection certified fabulous zotos shampoo

Last weekend, after spending two days with her father, Amelia returned home to me a hot mess (see  picture below).  I was certain I was going to have to traumatize her by having her long locks chopped. Her hair reminded me of the homeless lady who wanders around town, who we always referred to “Beaver Tail lady,” as her hair was so dread-locked it resembled a beaver tail. I decided to attempt to rectify the situation myself before taking drastic-haircutting-measures. First, I washed her hair with Bain de Terre coconut papaya Ultra Hydrating Shampoo. This lovely shampoo contains wonderful essential oils that helped to hydrate her overly dry (caused by swimming in a heavily chlorinated hotel swimming pool all weekend) and obviously damaged hair. I loved the richness of this shampoo, and because it is paraben free I feel confident using this product on my child's hair.  The nourishing Coconut Oil, plus argan and monoi oil made shampooing an effective first step at remedying the horrible situation which was my child’s hair.

Bain de Terre Coconut Papaya Ultra-Hydrating Hair Collection certified fabulous zotos

Next, I slathered her hair with Bain de Terre coconut papaya Ultra Hydrating Conditioner. This conditioner is fortified with the same coconut, argan and monoi oils as the shampoo. This conditioner is indicated for those with overly dry and damaged hair. This conditioner is also paraben free, and helped to loosen the matted knots present in my little ones hair. I began to relax, gaining a sense of hope that after completing all three steps in this hair care collection, that I might be able to get a comb through the matted mess.

Is your hair feeling limp and lifeless? Or is it some untamed wild beast? Either way we have a couple options for you!

Thicker Fuller hair shampoo and weightless conditioner hair care set certified fabulous

If you have fine, limp, or thin hair then check out Thicker Fuller Hair’s Cell-U-Plex Revitalizing Shampoo and Weightless Conditioner. This product lists off natural ingredients and takes a non-medicated approach to help solve your hair woes! It smells good, it’s lightweight, lathers well, and doesn't weigh your hair down. In fact, after the first use I noticed a huge difference, and for the price you just can’t go wrong… unless you already have untamed wild hair like me. This product does exactly what it claims. My hair was thicker, fuller, and full of volume… I mean this fluffy cloud of wonderment had a mind of its own. I will make note that I let my hair air dry and it tends to frizz. So when I did go to style it in the morning with a flat iron and smoothed it out, it really looked great! I had volume where I needed it; it was soft to the touch and actually held its shape throughout the day.

I’m a big fan of checking out ingredients. Thicker Fuller Hair lists ingredients such as caffeine to help perk up your roots with calming and moisturizing ingredients such as aloe vera. However, in further reading I found two ingredients that were hydrolyzed wheat starch and hydrolyzed wheat protein. Huh? So I’m lead to believe that the only caffeine perking me up is my half a pot of coffee first thing in the morning! I think we can all agree that the winning ingredient in this product is the wheat starch and wheat protein. If you can starch your shirts you can starch your hair… so be a little weary on the lather, rinse, repeat cycle!

I ran out of my usual salon (think $$$) shampoo and conditioner. Lately, in an attempt to save some cash I made the mistake of purchasing a mass market shampoo and conditioner. I’m not naming names, but let me just say, after 4 days my scalp was so itchy and thick with buildup, it was awful. I literally had the worst dandruff ever, and normally I have never had an issue. Thankfully, I have the Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. office across the hall, so when I stumbled in with my itchy head, Jessica suggested Conceived By Nature: Nourishing Lavender Shampoo, Conditioner.  Saved my life (or at least my itchy, flaky scalp), at a price that is more than reasonable ($9.99 retail) for a product that is amazing!!

Conceived by Nature combines the finest essential oils, herbs, micro-enriched proteins, and other natural ingredients to fortify and nourish hair, leaving it soft, strong and shiny. I love that no synthetic fragrances are used in the Conceived by Nature products. Essential oils provide an amazing aroma that tickles the senses in a hot steamy shower. The Lavender oil in the shampoo and conditioner is combined with other essential oils, herbs and vitamins. Blue-Green Algae, Marigold, Horsetail, Mandarin Orange, Honeysuckle, and Parsley are just a few of the amazing natural and mostly organic ingredients which gently cleanse while encouraging healthier hair growth to replenish, restore and keep hair soft, strong and shiny.

Conceived by Nature Shampoo.Conditioner 11.4.13 Certified FabulousConceived by Nature Nourishing Shampoo

Lavender oil calms nerves while enhancing circulation to the scalp and hair follicles, combined with grape fruit extract it works as an antioxidant to protect and nourish for a healthier scalp. Within two days, all of the buildup from my previous nasty shampoo was GONE!! My scalp felt clean and my hair was left feeling soft and wonderful.

Conceived by Nature Balancing Lavender Conditioner was equally wonderful. Lavender oil combined with essential oils, such as olive, sweet almond, and coconut, blended with shea butter help to nourish the hair and scalp by locking in moisture to smooth and soften, while adding body and shine. This uniquely balanced formula not only provides incredible performance, it left me feeling uplifted and conditioned. My hair felt healthier, and I truly had a natural, multi-sensory experience during my shower. The soothing lavender oil is blended with a unique combination of micro-enriched proteins and vitamins which helped to enrich my hair’s texture and condition, restoring its health, elasticity and vitality, making it easier to control and style.

Biotera Color Care Shampoo, Conditioner and specifically the 3 minute deep conditioning treatmenthave saved my hair!

Jessica convinced me to go back to my old ways of Super Blond...  Great idea except I started this 03252013 Biotera utlra care color certified fabulousadventure on my way into winter... which we all know is super hard on your hair to begin with.. put them together and I started to see a lot of breakage, dryness, and frizz... I actually referenced my hair to the feeling of straw :(. My hair is usually extremely soft and very fine.

I started using these products about a month ago and noticed a difference right away.  I am always nervous around the deep conditioning treatments, even for color treated hair, because I have in the past watched (literally) my color go down the drain...    So when Jessica (she is always trying to do something with my hair, LOL)  gave me this product to try... we crossed our fingers.

03252013 Biotera utlra care color certified 3 minute deep treatment fabulousI will attest, after the First Use of the 3 minute deep treatment, my hair was restored. It is softer, shiner and overall looking great. I love the ease of it, just use this conditioning treatment in place of your regular conditioner once a week... Wash hair, rinse, put in treatment, wait 3 minutes, wash out and you are good to go... it really is that easy :)

How does it work... That is what you are reading this for anyway, right?  This particular treatment is extremely hydrating and moisturizing do to the high levels of glycerin, and fortifying through its use of soy protein, and softening the hair through hydrogenated polydecene.

Hair care is SO important to me because I have a lot of hair and it is long! I would do anything for the health and happiness of my hair...it's almost like a child that is physically attached to my head :)

When the brand Eufora was brought to my attention, I just had to give it a go! My hair is thick and usually dry / frizzy because I color treat it and it is exposed to all 4-seasons of the weather elements. I always look for moisturizing or repairing type of hair products. That being said, I tried the Eufora Beautifying Elixir: Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner

First of all, the packaging design is very user friendly! You simply twist the cap left or right to open and close, I really liked that feature. It pours a perfect amount of product and is the right size to fit in the grasp of a hand...not too big to get slippery and drop on your toes...oww! It also is minimizes the space needed in your shower area, especially if you don't have those fancy shelves or add-ons to hold product on.

eufora beautifying elixir hair celebrityThe shampoo and conditioner had amazing scents and worked through my hair very easily. The next day, when my hair was dry, I noticed an immediate difference! My hair was very soft and managable! I was totally impressed!!! Since it worked so well, I just had to research more into these products to seee what exactly made the difference.

Who doesn't want soft, silky hair during the winter months?  With Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream, we get what we want! Moisture is so important during the cold, dry season and since we can't just sit in a steam room all day, we need assistance.   I have curly, frizzy, color-treated but otherwise healthy hair and this cream is great at keeping the flyaways... well, away.

The triple moisture system comes from naturally derived extracts like olive, meadowfoam seed and sweet almond. Olive penetrates to the center of the hair strand while meadowfoam seed brings the moisture to the silky hairmiddle and sweet almond covers the surface.  With daily use, I've really noticed a difference in the humidity level of my hair.

You only need a small amount spread evenly through-out hair and it immediately gets absorbed and starts to protect your hair, especially the dry ends.  It's lightweight, non-greasy and smooth!  I simply style as usual after applying and my hair is soft, silky and my natural curls stay manageable all day.

I love the added benefit of UV filters to this leave-in treatment as well.  I don't have to worry about sun damage.

So remember to moisturize your hair this season but more importantly, take care of yourself.

Today I am excited to talk about one of my favorite things...hair. I love my hair and since it is SO long, thick and dry/fizzy I have to work at taking good care of it. I bet I spend more on hair products than I do skin care products! My hair is pretty much spoiled because I have a tendency to splurge on the best and top rated products around...which can become costly. I can't help it, I always dream of having my hair soft, manageable and perfect like the celebrities do. Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively and Courtney Cox are among the best with amazing hair.

kate hair

I started my research for my leave-in conditioner by searching for what the celebrities were using. I found a bunch of magazines online with lists of celebrities and what their favorite products they use were. Once I found a few good hair ones I checked them out on Amazon to see real customer ratings and the best out of the group was Terax: Life Drops - is a leave-in protein conditioner with silk and wheat proteins. This product is said to use Silk and Wheat Protein to strengthen and restore elasticity to dry, brittle hair. The formulation's slightly acidic pH acts to help seal the cuticle, retain moisture, prevent colour fade and heat-styling damage. Kate Beckinsale is just one of the A list celebrities that use this product and even will use the brand's other products on her 8-year-old daughter's hair. I just had to put this to the test.

Terax Life Drops Leave In Protein Conditioner with Silk and Wheat Proteins Hair Conditioners And Treatments

After I got out of the shower and towel dried my hair, I shook the bottle of Terax Life Drops and put about a quarter size or a tad more into my palm. Its not oil so it is pretty liquidy coming out, watch for that. I then rubbed my palms together and then applied to the hair, all except the scalp area. Then I just brushed my hair as usual and let it air dry overnight. When I woke up my hair was unbelievably soft! I could believe how much of a difference one application made...which of course made me happy! I didn't have to load my hair with hairspry to tame down the frizz, so my hair felt natural and light, soft and clean. This product worked out so well for me that I am anxious to try out the other products they have to offer, like the shampoo and conditioner that also is very highly recommended.
