Mineral Fusion started business in 2007. They offer a wide variety of cosmetics and body care products, all of which are made in the USA. One of the many things that makes Mineral Fusion stand out is their alliance with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. I like buying items from a company that “makes a difference” in our world.
I tried the following colors of Mineral Fusion nail polish: Radiant Amber, Mossy Bank, Cascade, Gold Rush, and Galaxy. The colors were all great and I had no chipping!
What was truly remarkable was that Radiant Amber. I have a pink hue in my skin tone so I don’t usually wear an orange based nail color. This color actually looked good on me and I was able to achieve total coverage in just one coat. I used a top coat and this polish lasted a week with no wear and no chips.
The Mossy Bank is a rich and deep green. This color will work well with both fall and winter looks. This color showed a bit of wear on the tips after a week, but for such a dark color that’s to be expected....
I just tried the Backstage Collection from Nails Inc. London and I’m impressed. This collection has three colors: Abby Road, Stratford, and Porchester Square. These are full size bottles – unlike the sample size bottles that you’d find in most collections.
Porchester Square is a neutral color. I applied two coats of polish over my base coat; however you can get coverage with one coat. The polish is nice and shiny but I still applied a top coat for protection. The polish lasted a week with no chips, just normal wear.
Stratford is a mirror metallic polish with a chameleon shimmer. The color changes from gold to pinks to greens when you move your fingers or hand. I applied two coats of polish over my base coat along with a top coat for extra protection. You could probably get total coverage with one coat, as the polish is on the thicker side. The polish lasted a week with normal wear on the tips but no chips.
Abbey Road is a silver polish with a holographic effect. This color required two coats to achieve total coverage. The holographic effect became more prominent after I applied my top coat. The polish lasted well over a week with no wear or chips. I just love a polish that holds up like this one did!
The Backstage Collection is a great assortment of colors and special effects. If you’re in a rush and can’t take the time to apply two coats of color you can use either Stratford or Porchester Square for a quick one coat cover. If you have the time for two coats than try Abbey Road – this polish is so long lasting!...

So in this season and looks great with so many awesome summer colors. Pair it with bright yellow for flirty fun, pink for a more sexy vintage look, or black for a night on the town! Or be like me and combine it with a few of your other mint colored summer must haves (my mint cropped pants are my favorite!!) and some nice neutral colors. Winter in Paris is a beautiful magenta/pink color. Very vintage yet still so modern! I love wearing this color with my white summer dresses for date nights. It's so romantic and deep, yet still cute and flirty. Perfect for a summer ice cream date!!...
I have a nice full set of lips, but never really wear lipstick. I love a nice gloss, or a nice chapstick, but when it comes to my lips, I prefer more function (soothing moisturization) to color. Then I was given Smashbox’s Be legendary Lipstick in Primrose, and I am now a lipstick lover after receiving so many compliments on my pretty pout.
As modern civilizations started to make rapid advances in technology and chemistry, the first manmade lipstick appeared as a cosmetic tool for the wealthy women and men of ancient Mesopotamia, Indus Valley Region and Egypt. Egypt especially managed to advance the art of lipstick making, managing to produce bright red carmine lipstick that are made from cochineal insect pigments, which is a timeless technique that is in use even today. Those lipsticks were made from powdered and processed bodies of cochineal insects or purple extracts of seaweed, mixed with various oils and waxes. History books will forever remember various important Egyptian figures that were depicted in their hydrographic images with various cosmetic enhancements – Nefertiti’s black eyeliner or Cleopatra’s bright red lips. Thankfully today there are rules against using insect parts in our skincare and makeup. The thought of smearing bug guts on my mouth is enough to make me retch.
Be Legendary Lipstick in Primrose is the perfect daily wear lipstick. The color is neutral, but bright enough to be worn for day or night. Primrose can be described as a neutral dusty rose shade, with more pinks than reds or oranges. I have a more olive skin tone, so pinks work well on me. This lipstick applies smoothly, and does not feel slimy or greasy like some others. It has amazing staying power. The night I wore it out for the first time I was quite liberal with my kisses, and managed to not smear anyone’s cheek or clothing. I got plenty of compliments on the shade, which is always the best indicator for how well a color looks on ones face. I truly love this lipstick and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good neutral shade that works well with any look, day or night.
As temperatures rise and the days grow longer, your chances of getting too much sun exposure increase as well. You know better than to go outside without applying SPF to your skin but what about your hair? Touchback Plus is a system of dual UVA/UVB-protective shampoos and conditioners that help maintain hair’s optimum color intensity and prevent fading. Each dose provides superior sunscreen protection and hydration for your hair and keeps your salon color looking as fresh as it did when you stepped out of your colorist’s chair. Go ahead and soak up the sun this season without subjecting your hair to harmful UV rays or stripping it of its vivid color and shine.
In addition to providing sunscreen protection, TouchBack Plus goes one step further to actually improve the condition and health of your hair by delivering smoothing and reparative benefits to dry, damaged strands. Now you can enjoy your fun-in-the-sun with no regrets! TouchBack Plus revitalizes hair adding manageability, shine and a healthy dose of color to both natural and color-treated hair with nourishing formulas that include sunflower, chamomile flower, green tea leaf, rose hips and lemon peel extracts. No ammonia, peroxide or sulfates added!
I tested the line out and found that my color became richer and more vibrant with each use. I would not recommend using the colored system every day since the color pigments can build overtime and become too intense. You can use the colored system three times a week with your other favorite shampoos and conditioners. Or if you want the daily dose of SPF protection without the color deposit, TouchBack Plus also comes in clear! The products are available in eight shades– Rich Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Brown, Ash Blonde, Golden Blonde, Light Auburn, Dark Auburn and CLEAR. Pick them up at your local Ulta store, Ulta.com or TouchBackPlus.com.
Happy Mother's Day Fabulous Readers!
I hope are mom's are enjoying your day with your family and getting in some much deserved R & R!
Today I am excited to bring to you the hottest summer trend to be sprouting up on the beaches and you will be in the know before anyone else! COLOR is in and lots of it too! Bright, loud, funky clothing will be peppering the sandy shores and be all the rage at the night clubs and I just happen to find a clothing company that specializes in the most colorful fashions.
Desigual is a cool European brand hailing from Barcelona is known for their bright hues and funky designs. I happily received my Desigual Withe scarf and was excited to wear it out and about! It has practically every color under the sun in it so it is so easy to coordinate with most any outfit and I actually did rock it with several different styles. It is a perfect accent piece to spice up basic colors, such as black and white outfits or with jeans and a white T-shirt or I even was able to wear jeans and a bright orange cardigan with it.
It is also a perfect beach accessory as you can use it as a sarong or tunic! I love scarfs that are multi-purpose :)...
Hello Fabulous Readers!
I hope you all had a good holiday and the chaos is over for you. Maybe some of still have family to visit or things to return, but hopefully you find some time to relax and get ready for the new year!
2012 was a very exciting time for fashion and cosmetics and even me, the makeup freak, was surprised with what this year brought and it felt like a whole new adventure! We saw a lot of color for Spring and Summer and bold lips were my trend obsession, followed by dramatic rosy cheeks with natural makeup and "Pop of Color" for eye makeup.
Now my term "Pop of Color" has now been a staple in my everyday makeup and even inspired a lot of my fashion. I have so many Pop of Color ideas I think I have to make YouTube episodes on my makeup tutorials just to show you :) Anyway, I have done major experimenting with eye color cosmetics and I have found that I can pretty much wear any color...the right way. Warmer colors are not my ideal makeup match but I use it minimally when I match warm clothing colors I am wearing. For example, if I am wearing a melon color shirt I will do my makeup mostly natural except for my bottom lid, I will line the waterline with a black liner. After I take my warm, coral colored eye shadow from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: BURNING TRUE CORAL SHIMMER and sweep it under the liner. If I want it to show up bolder I simply wet the tiny shadow brush and dip it in the shadow and apply....
Greetings Grayce here!
So much fun
This is a really great idea!! The twin sets come in several different colors my favorite is the King Crimson - Royal Metallic Scarlet/ Scarlet Glitter
This is a fun little duo great for the holiday’s - great colors....
