Experimenting with color is one of my favorite aspects of playing with new makeup and creating a fresh, new look. Recently, I had the opportunity to test eyeshadow from the PLAY Collection, the newest collection from beautyADDICTS. The shade is called Yacht Club, a shimmering navy hue, which includes super fine, crushed pearls to create a radiant look.

The first thing I noticed when using the eyeshadow was its smooth application. The first time I used the shadow I created a navy smokey eye using the deep navy shade blended with a deep bronze shadow and gray shadows. The blue really enhanced my eye color and gave a softer look that a gray/black smokey eye would create. The second time I used the shadow was for a day out on my friend’s boat. It seemed appropriate since the shadow is named “Yacht Club.” The long lasting formula made it from early morning to sunset. On this day, I dipped an eyeliner brush in water and then applied the shadow as eyeliner. The color came out much more vibrant thanks to the damp eyeliner brush and lasted all day.

The full PLAY Collection from beautyADDICTS is comprised of four eyeshadows, two lipsticks, two lip glosses and one eye liner color. The color combinations are really lovely and look fantastic as a collection. The eyeshadow line also includes an Emerald shade, the Pantone color for 2013, which I am dying to try next. The full eyeshadow collection consists of: a green ("Emerald City"), a light teal ("Crème de Mint"), a vintage pink ("Eye Candy") and a dark blue/navy ("Yacht Club"). All of which can be purchased at www.beautyaddicts.com

Have fun playing with color and remember to experiment by using a damp brush and blending with other shadows!

The summer glow is something that people strive for every year and it never goes out of style. I love the way the look makes your skin look healthy and also is a great way to conceal flaws since the light gets reflected!

I discovered a highlighter palette that actually gives you two options to achieve that sunny glow! beautyADDICTS: GLIMMERsheers is a dual compact containing a shimmer side for ultimate luminizing radiance and the other side is sheer for a sheen, dewy look! Who doesn't love choices? :)

So what's in this Glowing Highlighter that makes it so FABULOUS? Dermaxyl, which is clinically proven to stimulate collagen and elastin production and visibly "plump skin" with enhanced hydration and Green Tea as a potent anti-oxidant.

Some tips for use of the highlighter section:

1. Pat on with your fingers or use a foundation brush along cheek bones and temples.

What is it about that glow? I've been trying a lot of products this summer, and one theme that keeps coming up, week after week, is the glowing skin. Whether it's from prodcts that will refine and renew your skin, or makeup products that give you a little bit of a sun-kissed glimmer. I have stayed away from the shimmers in the past, but I've found some great products that allow for a softer, natural look and have been awesome additions to my makeup collection!

beautyADDICTS sleeks cheeks glow 8.8.13For beautyADDICTS week, I tried another product with some shimmer to it, and I was surprised at how it worked. That is, the beautyADDICTS SleekCHEEKS in Glow. This is a weightless crème-to-powder blush with two color options - you have the ultra sheer light pink/cream and a darker bronzy pink. I wasn't really sure how to use this product at first, and I don't usually wear blush, so I was experimenting a little bit. I first tried to use a brush to apply it, but since it's a crème-to-powder, the brush did not pick up the blush well. So it was best to blend in with my fingers and add more as desired. I appreciated that I could use a little at first, and then build up from there. It was great to use the top lighter color for highlighting, and the shimmer was more subtle than I thought it would be, creating a soft, natural glow rather than bold shimmer. You can easily put on alittle for work, and amp up the shimmer for the night!

You can pick up your own beautyADDICTS SleekCHEEKS blush for $28!
