Are you one of the lucky ones taking a vacation to sunnier skies and warmer weather? As I sit inside right now, there are piles upon piles of snow outside my window and the gracing temperature of...let me check....21° (feels like 7°)... Great. So as you can imagine, I'm dreaming of a vacation; one with a beach and plenty of sun. If you feel the same, you might be planning a vacation or all ready have one scheduled and are eagerly awaiting your flight. What's left to do? Pack! I don't like packing, but if it's for vacation, I'd be packed a week beforehand with the suitcase at my door ready to go. So to make sure you embrace your packing with some fabulous vacation style, I've put together a few styles for you to rock on your much needed time in the sun!

Beach Chic

For Beach Chic, think French Riviera style. Or a vacation on a fancy yacht. Your outfit ensembles should be classy and timeless, with a bit of sass. Start with a sexy black one piece, cut just right, add a wide floppy sun hat and thick sun shades for a mysterious look (and of course sun protection). A black and white striped & structured tote plus chunky, polished sandals take the outfit up a notch and will cause those envious stares! Bring a light, loose cardigan to cover up when needed. Last but not least, bold red nails add just the touch of sass you want! Guerlain Nail Lacquer Rouge D'Enfer will give you that bright hue and glossy finish (my favorite nail polish)!

Don't you just love your beach hair? Salty, sexy, tousled, wind blown waves create this accidentally gorgeous, rockin' beach style. Aren't there times when you wish you could create that look without actually going to the beach? I love the ocean, the sun, the waves, and the sand. I would be at the beach almost everyday in the summer if I could. But I can't. So I found a solution to get that beachy look and feel without the time and effort of the beach - Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray and Beach Babe Texturizing Hair Cream. When used together, these products will have your hair saying "beach babe" in no time.

Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Texturizing Spray 7.25.13The Texturizing Sea Salt Spray is infused with Dead Sea Salt & Sea Kelp; you really get that ocean salt texture without the dryness. It does not make your hair stiff, but instead creates separated, tousled pieces and waves. It is also really easy to use! Just mist onto clean, damp or dry hair, and then comb through or style with your fingers to create a random, piece-y texture. Don't be afraid to go a little on the messy side - tousled, messy pieces can go a long way! Not only will your hair look like you were just at the beach, but you will smell like it! This product smells amazing! Just like the beach - it smells like your favorite sunscreen, salty, little bit of coconut. This scent description is not doing it justice, but take my word for it, it smells like the beach!

Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Texturizing Cream 7.25.13If you want extra hold and texture (great for those with thick hair) add the Texturizing Hair Cream. After you apply the Sea Salt Spray, simply squeeze a small amount of the Hair Cream into your hands, spread over your palms, and scrunch your hair. Add more until you've achieved the desired style. This will help create more defined pieces, and add extra hold. This product feels a little sticky in your hands, but works great in your hair. I have thick, and rather frizzy hair so this was great to help control and define pieces. If you have thin hair, you might just need the Sea Salt Spray, so be mindful of your hair type when choosing what product to use! This product also smells just like a summer lotion/sunscreen!

I found these products great to use for a summer night out when you want that look of effortlessly tousled waves. I don't use heat styling tools too much in the summer - my hair tends to get frizzy and un-tamable in  the summer heat and humidity and I just give up on trying to create a perfectly tamed, slick style. The Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray and the Beach Babe Texturizing Hair Cream are great to get some added texture and waves without the use of heat styling tools. Also my hair looked, felt, and smelled like I just came from a relaxing day at the beach! So if you're having beach withdrawals, these products will help ease your senses and create that beach style!

Both the Not Your Mother's Texturizing Sea Salt Spray and Texturizing Hair Cream are an awesome buy at $5.99 each! A great save option without sacrificing style!

One of my favorite things about Summer is going to the beach. I love the way my skin and hair feel after a day lounging and walking with my dog on the sand. My skin is soft, sun kissed, and salty and my hair is wavy and thick from the misty air. Add an ice cream cone and a sexy boy and you've got my perfect summer day!

But with hectic schedules comes less beach days and more days spent working or running errands (and to think as a kid I thought being an adult would be awesome. I'd trade my driver's license and rent for biking with friends and going to the movies all day every day any day! Did that make sense?).
05242013 SKN Beverly Hills Beach House Scrub

Let's start with the shower. SKN Beverly Hills makes a body scrub called "Beach House Body" and it's the fastest way to feel like a beach bum without living on a beach! It uses actual sand, jojoba beads and apricot seeds to exfoliate your skin, leaving you bright and Summer Ice Cream date ready! (Man, is anyone else craving ice cream?) I love the feel and smell of this scrub! I started using it when the North East was still feeling ickish from Winter (aka Spring) and it made me so excited for Summer! And the beach! And ice cream!

05242013 Organix Moroccan Sea Salt SprayNow that my skin was ready, I just had to do something about my long wavy blah winter hair. And I found it! Organix Moroccan Sea Salt Spray & Surf Paste are my summer hair go-tos this year! The Sea Salt Spray is a great quick tool that gives you hair that great natural texture that I thought you could on get at the beach! I give my hair a quick spritz straight out of the shower and let it air dry for my not-really-wavy-not-really-straight tressels to transform into soft, sexy waves. The Surf Paste gives your hair a bit more structure and control, getting rid of flyaways while still leaving you looking natural. It doesn't hurt that they both smell like the beach (minus the dead fish smell you sometimes get).05242013 Organix Moroccan Surf Paste

Even though the weather has just started to feel Summer-ish, I've been enjoying the beach for weeks now thanks to these three wonderful products! Well, I have to go eat some ice cream now!

"It is better to trust the eyes rather than the ears."

"The eye is the mirror of the soul."

"What the eye does not admire the heart does not."

Everyone knows the importance of their eyes...for obvious reasons. Like a smile is an important first impression so are the eyes, since that is what people are looking at the majority of the time during a conversation! I truly believe you can tell a lot from a person's eyes and feel it is important to have them looking their best. No one likes looking into red, eyes with dark circles and saggy skin. Looking like you never sleep is not really a look people want to have or to look at. You might not even be tired, but your eyes reveal a whole other story.

When I look at tired, droopy eyes it gives me the impression of defeat and weakness, and who wants to give off that impression?? Age is a factor in this look, actually not getting much sleep is another, but a large reason is the effect of the sun on your face! So many people apply sunscreen on their bodies faithfully but skimp on their face, which has the most delicate skin to worry about. Even if you wear sunglasses or sit under an umbrella on the beach the sun is bound to get you, when you least expect it! Do you put sunscreen on before you go to work or if you just go out for a walk in your neighborhood? Most people would answer no. Even on an overcast day the sun can reflect harmful rays that you wouldn't even think about.
