Since the sun goes down a little sooner these days...who am I kidding, a LOT sooner, all I want to do is stay wrapped up and warm inside. So as you start to think about your Holiday gifts think about something that might bring a little more warm light to your gift receiver's evening...a candle! They are soothing and calming and won't cost more money on an electrical bill! In the Holiday Spirit, Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. has received some lovely candles to test out and our office is very thankful for it!

Bath & Body Works Snowday Candle

We have been lighting this candle quite often in the Certified FABULOUS office. It will definitely put you into a holiday mood. The scent fills the whole office in a short amount of time! The fragrance combination of spruce branches, peppermint and sweet vanilla bring the feeling of a fun filled snow day inside! It's the perfect addition to your cozy day inside perhaps during a snow storm or a winter evening in. This will make a great Holiday gift and a scent that will be perfect for the rest of the winter!

This Summer my husband and I went on a road trip from Maine to Georgia for my brother's wedding. It took us 26 hours total to get from one end of the eastern coast to the other (thanks to stops, traffic, and diverting from course to see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge). I've found when I tell people that we decided to drive instead of fly, I get reactions of disgust and sympathy. But I have no idea why, it was amazing!

We love road trips and we try to take one every other summer. So why do so many people think of a road trip with dread? Well, my theory is that it's because they aren't preparing the right way (also the fact that we don't have kids yet may help...). Make sure you have your GPS and charger (if you have one), your maps (yes, even if you have the GPS as well). Always make sure to have a good old fashioned atlas in the backseat (just in case), a first aid kit, snacks, water, and good music. I also always splurge for a good audio book to help me drive through the night.

But while all that is necessary, you need to ensure you can remain comfortably locked in a moving metal cage for hours (or days) on end. Here is my beauty product checklist to make you comfortable throughout the trip:

1. La Roche-Posay Thermal Water. This soothing water is a fine mist spray that's perfect for La Roche Posay thermal spray waterrefreshing your face at rest areas or when stopping for food. It tones and refreshes skin, perfect for after spending hours in the car. It's like a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer in a super quick spray!

Bath and Body Works PocketBacs2. Bath & Body Works PocketBac Hand Sanitizers. Not surprisingly, on the road means a limited supply of sinks and hand soap. I'm sure I don't need to convince you of the importance of hand sanitizer however, let me recommend Bath & Body Works mini PocketBacs! They smell great, come in super convenient sizes, and they're cheap! I had one in my purse, my suitcase, my car, my pocket, everywhere.

This week we have been giving you a helping hand with Mother's Day gift ideas and today I continue the trend with an overhaul of products I reviewed just for the special day!

Bath Body Works Mothers Day Candle certified fabulous

1) I will start with a classic gift that most anyone loves and last longer than a bouquet of flowers, yet will make the room smell like flowers...candles! There is an amazing new candle just for Mother's Day from Bath & Body Works: Love Mom "Bright Bouquet" candle. A 3-wick candle with a beautiful blend of floral, citrus and the perfect hint of mint! The presentation is beautiful and the scent is SO amazing! I only have to have it lit for about 30 minutes and my whole house is filled with the sweet scent of flowers like I had an entire garden in my living room! sPerfect for a mother-in-law you are meeting for the first time, a mom who loves to scent her home, a mom who loves flowers...most anyone really. I love it so much and you can't go wrong with a scented candle as a gift!   www.bathandbodyworks.com

05082013 Mary Kay Facial Highlighting Pen Certified Fabulous2) A non-typical gift for Mother's Day, but something she wants but would never ask for! The Mary Kay: Highlighting Pen! The pen has sspecial light-reflecting pigments that optically “lift” the shadowy areas of your face. Instantly your skin looks brighter, your tone more even and your face more radiant. I love this pen because it is so easy to use and blends perfectly. It doesn't clump when it's mixed over my foundation on my face and glides easily with the twist on the bottom which dispenses liquid through the brush. Sweep it under your eyes to brighten your eye area and hide dark circles or you can even use it on other areas of your face that create shadow, like smile lines around the mouth. Also great to use on your lower lip / chin crease area. I use it on top of my foundation but it can also be used as the first step before foundation or worn alone. This is perfect for the mom that wears makeup, is looking to brighten her face and hide age sports/ dark circles, or the new mom :) It is a little secret weapon that every woman should have in their makeup bag or purse.  www.marykay.com
