Summertime is the best and worst time for people, such as me, who have naturally curly hair.  The humidity helps by making my super curly (the best of times), but also contributes to excessive amounts of frizz (the worst of times).  The only remedy for the worst of times is the right hair care products.  Thankfully KMS California has an entire line of wonderful products for curly-haired gals like me!

KMS shampoo and conditioner

KMS California Curl Up Shampoo and Conditioner are a top pick for curly-girl hair care.  The shampoo provides curl support and elasticity while hydrating the hair.  I found that this shampoo did a wonderful job cleansing my hair, and left no buildup after multiple uses.  It was not drying whatsoever, and smells amazing.   The conditioner also smells amazing, is thick and rich and super hydrating.  After using this dynamic duo in the shower, my curls were soft, bouncy and tangle free.  Just how I like them :)

PHYTO Paris- Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm

I get teased on a regular basis about my ponytail. Yes I will admit, I wear my medium-length hair in a ponytail 80% of the time, but in my defense, I have the frizziest hair imaginable, and it is impossible for me to wash my hair and go. I look like bozo the clown, so unless I'm willing to spend a good 20 minutes with my straight iron, its in a ponytail my hair must go. I am always seeking the best anti-frizz product, one that can be smoothed through my hair and makes the flat iron unnecessary. No luck, until now.

PHYTO Paris- Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm is a high end relaxing balm available at salons and high end stores (Sephora, Ulta). This hair care product is made with organic ingredients such as Althea Officinalis Root Extract, Salvia Sage Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Extract and Horseradish Root. These ingredients work together to protect hair from damage, with the application of heat, my hair has never looked smoother, especially with a hair smoother which does not contain any silicones!!!

It is very important to apply this product on damp hair, before blowdrying, the heat from the dryer activates this product and allows it to work its best. I have also applied Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm after I’ve finished styling, or on my dry hair the next day, for additional smoothing. This product is so lightweight and non-greasy feeling, but manages to smooth out the hair shaft, eliminating the frizz that so plagues me. In addition to its smoothing action, the innovative alcohol-free formula hydrates and strengthens hair without weighing it down. Such a great product, I would highly recommend it for your thick, coarse frizzy hair!!

Summertime. Love it. Hot humid weather, skirts and sundresses, going to the beach. My favorite. Only problem, my big frizzy mop of hair.  Humidity kills me; I always have a halo of frizz. I am more than willing to try any product which promises to help me with my frizzy mess. This month’s go to frizz fighter is Not Your Mother’s Lock Luster Oil Treatment, infused with Argan and Macadamia Oil.

Lock Luster Oil treatment promises to add some life and luster back to my dry, overworked frizzy hair. I am guilty of blowdrying and flat ironing my hair more than I should. This product creates a protective layer on my hair, my hot tools lock this moisture into my hair making it shiny and soft after heat styling. I loved loved loved this product for this! I applied as indicated to my wet hair from tips to roots (sparingly on my roots) before heat styling. Then after my style is complete, I used a small amount to smooth down the final stubborn frizzies.

Not Your Mothers Lock Luster 7.29.13

What makes the Lock Luster oil treatment so great? Macadamia oil reduces wrinkles and dryness. It is a natural moisturizer and emollient (emollients attract and trap moisture from the air). Macadamia oil is light and non-greasy so it is easily absorbed into the hair shaft and skin. Another gift of macadamia nut oil is that it contains proteins, and its vitamin E contributes skin-care benefits and long shelf life. The high count of mono-unsaturated fatty acids makes the oil mimic the sebum (naturally produced oil on scalp and skin which protects it from damage).

Together, macadamia oil and argan oil replenish the hair’s natural emollients with the high content of essential fatty acids found naturally in both of these exceptional oils. The combined benefits help to nourish and protect the hair from harmful UV rays while repairing hair follicles for improved elasticity and shine. Lock Luster Oil Treatment contains both of these oils, making this product so amazing.  I urge you to try Not Your Mother’s Lock Luster Oil Treatment!!
