Sometimes we will receive books into the Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. office, which may seem kinda random, but they usually appear to be pretty awesome. Have you read Jessica's review of the Booze Book? (HERE). It sounds like so much fun! I want one all to myself! Needless to say, when the next couple books came into the office, I had my eye on them.

The first book is the DIY DYE - Bright and Funky Temporary Hair Coloring You Do At Home by Loren Lankford. This book covers the various aspects of dying your hair. With main topics as "Get Ready," "The Dyes," and "DIY Style," you'll have instructions and pictures on multiple types of hair dying and what will work best for your hair. Writer Loren Lankford's tales of her hair dying experience at the start of the book lets you know your hair is in good hands.

To start, and throughout the book, Lankford covers all the basics of what you need when dying your hair. It may seem like common sense when you're reading it, but if you've never dyed your hair, or don't dye it very often, this book is a good reference you get you thinking about all the right things before you dye your hair and what you need for each hair dying technique.

Lankford also covers various hair dye concoctions and techniques such as: bleaching, hair chalking, Kool Aid (yes Kool Aid), Colored Hairspray, Henna, Tea Bags and so much more! Each process is written out clearly and shown with key photos for the techniques. Lankford goes over these different hair topics from start to finish, what you can expect from them, and what to use to achieved your desired hair color and effect.

Short DIY Definitions are included throughout the book to help clue you in on terms you might not be so familiar with. Overall, this book will help you know your dye, the materials you're working with and how that will effect your hair. You will be well informed before changing your hair so you can execute it properly!

DIY DYE Book 4.1.14

The second book, Cupcakes & Cocktails seems to be written precisely for me! I love cupcakes and I love cocktails and having them together, you can't go wrong! At least in my opinion :) This book, written by the Bonnie Marcus Collection, covers "Fabulous Cupcake and Cocktail Recipes for Any Occasion" and has so many yummy recipes, you'll be dreaming of delicious cupcakes and cocktails!

This book will  generate so many ideas; themes for parties, which cupcakes to pair with the appropriate cocktail and combinations for the right type of event! This book also includes some baking tips, probably for people like me that love their sweet baked goods, but need a little extra help to make them, and how to prepare your cupcakes and cocktails in advance  for a smoother event. From a Sunday Funday mimosa, to a holiday eggnog, or just spa day with the girls, you'll find just the drink you need to compliment your next baking success! As for the cupcakes, I currently have my eye on making the Salted Caramel Cupcakes...yum :)

Whether you use this book as your party guide (I mean a party with cupcakes and cocktails just has to be good) or to place on your coffee table, the recipes look so good, you'll be motivated enough to get up off the couch and make a great cupcake & cocktail pair!
