Not Sure What to Wear? Hand Picked Items Just For You Delivered to Your Door!
How do you shop for clothes these days? Online, hit up the mall, participate in a subscription service, avoid it at all costs, or can't get enough of it? Well if you're looking for a new way to shop, or just another way to shop, Stitch Fix just might be your new obsession. So what is Stitch Fix? In a nutshell, Stitch Fix is an online personal styling service that delivers a box of handpicked fashion items directly to your door!
Here's how it works:
First, create an account on www.stitchfix.com and fill out your style profile. Answer the questions regarding your style, size, and budget preferences. The more details you give, the better your stylist will understand your style preferences, so don't skimp on this part. Next, schedule a shipment date, or sign up for monthly Fixes! Your Stitch Fix will then be delivered to your door with 5 (total) hand picked clothing & accessory items. Try on all the items and pair them with the other items in your closet: this will really give you a sense of whether or not you will wear the item. The Fix comes with a styling card that will give you some great ideas on how to style each item! If something is pushing your style limits, refer to the card to give you some ideas on how to incorporate it into your wardrobe.
You have three business days to decide what to keep and what you want to send back. If you are returning items, just place them in the pre-paid shipping bag and drop it in any USPS mailbox. Once you've made your decision and have sent back any unwanted items, you will then go to the checkout process online. This checkout process is where you'll provide feedback regarding each item you received: the fit, style, budget, look, and any further comments you wish to leave. I suggest you fill this out thoroughly as it will help your stylist choose the best items for your next Fix! Last step, confirm your payment, then go ahead and schedule your next Fix! For an easy to follow process, Stitch Fix provides you with an information card (instructions on the process), styling card, and price list for the items!
When Certified F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. heard about Stitch Fix, we were immediately intrigued! We love to shop, but also love the convenience and service tailored to your style that StitchFix provides. So naturally we had to try it out! Both Jessica and I created accounts, filled out our style profiles and ordered a Fix! We have different styles so we were excited to see how our fixes compared! But keep in mind, this was our first Fix, so with feedback on this Fix, and others to come, I have great faith that the stylists will be recommending pieces that will get our style just right and push the limits a bit!
On my style card, there was a quick note from my stylist, introducing the items and touching on the style. Right off from reading the note, I knew my stylist had a pretty good understanding of what I would like, and my favorite item was the one my stylist predicted I would love! The Tart Leonor Faux Leather Trimmed Sweatshirt was right on point! With quality material, casual comfort and edgy details, this was just my style and I immediately fell in love! The scarf and the Pomelo cardigan were also quite my style but didn't seem to fit too well with what I needed to add to my existing wardrobe. However, the cardigan & the scarf were really soft! The fit wasn't quite right with the color-blocked blouse & the jacket, but since this was my first Stitch Fix, I wasn't disappointed with the selection. I could tell my stylist was throwing in some pieces to mix it up (such as the bright colors on the jacket and the blouse) but the pieces overall suit my style.

How did this compare to Jessica's Stitch Fix?
Jessica and I both felt that our stylist was able to tap into our style preferences. Even though the fit wasn't quite right for Jessica this time around, she still loved the styles and color options! We loved the color of the jeans and she felt they were pushing her style choices just enough - she would not normally think to purchase such colorful jeans but ended up loving the style! Jessica also mentioned that she loves the feedback option & the ability to change your style profile. Now that she has gained a sense of how her stylist perceives her style & fit, Jessica is able to tweak that until it's just right!

So who is Stitch Fix for? I honestly think it suits a range of people's shopping preferences. If you never have the time to shop (perhaps you're a mother, or work non-stop), or if you just don't like shopping, you'll enjoy this service for a number of reasons: you don't have to go anywhere, you don't have to choose the clothes, you can try them on in the comfort of your own home, and you'll be provided with style tips on how to wear your items!
But you can still love shopping and enjoy this service as well. With Stitch Fix you'll find some great brands and items that you might not come across shopping in store or even online. Even if you love putting outfits together, the style tips will only help fuel your creative style! As you try on your clothes at home you can mix and match with the pieces you already have in your closet. Your stylist will also push your style limits and throw in some pieces that you might not normally choose on your own but might end up loving!
Overall, Stitch Fix is convenient, easy, and so much fun!
