I like to take care of my face, and one of my must have products is a good facial cleanser. I've tried a lot of facial cleansers and many of them have major drawbacks. Some leave my skin too tight, some leave my face red and blotchy, some don't clean enough, I've even had one that made me break out! I didn't think that was possible!!

So when I find a cleanser I like, I tend to stick with it for awhile.

Neutrogena is a brand I trust and so I didn't hesitate at all to try their Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser. And I was right, which I usually am (just ask my husband). The cleanser turns into a gentle foam that doesn't over dry my skin. My skin feels fresh and clean afterwards, but not tight or stripped.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser 11.3.13 Certified Fabulous

Because of its gentleness, it's my favorite cleanser to use after I exercise. When I come home from the gym or a run, my face is red and sensitive. I find my normal cleansers are too harsh for my skin in this fragile state and, even though these cleansers work perfectly any other time, they make my face redder and sometimes even sting a bit.

This Summer my husband and I went on a road trip from Maine to Georgia for my brother's wedding. It took us 26 hours total to get from one end of the eastern coast to the other (thanks to stops, traffic, and diverting from course to see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge). I've found when I tell people that we decided to drive instead of fly, I get reactions of disgust and sympathy. But I have no idea why, it was amazing!

We love road trips and we try to take one every other summer. So why do so many people think of a road trip with dread? Well, my theory is that it's because they aren't preparing the right way (also the fact that we don't have kids yet may help...). Make sure you have your GPS and charger (if you have one), your maps (yes, even if you have the GPS as well). Always make sure to have a good old fashioned atlas in the backseat (just in case), a first aid kit, snacks, water, and good music. I also always splurge for a good audio book to help me drive through the night.

But while all that is necessary, you need to ensure you can remain comfortably locked in a moving metal cage for hours (or days) on end. Here is my beauty product checklist to make you comfortable throughout the trip:

1. La Roche-Posay Thermal Water. This soothing water is a fine mist spray that's perfect for La Roche Posay thermal spray waterrefreshing your face at rest areas or when stopping for food. It tones and refreshes skin, perfect for after spending hours in the car. It's like a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer in a super quick spray!

Bath and Body Works PocketBacs2. Bath & Body Works PocketBac Hand Sanitizers. Not surprisingly, on the road means a limited supply of sinks and hand soap. I'm sure I don't need to convince you of the importance of hand sanitizer however, let me recommend Bath & Body Works mini PocketBacs! They smell great, come in super convenient sizes, and they're cheap! I had one in my purse, my suitcase, my car, my pocket, everywhere.

Finding the right shampoo and conditioner set for your hair is tough. It's a process that takes time and lots of trial and error. Since everyone's hair is so unique and reacts to different treatments differently, it's difficult to pinpoint what to use on a group of hair-types. But I'm gonna try!

It Facor Shampoo and ConditionerIf you have thick, corse hair (and a lot of it!):

itFactor quick blowdry smoothing lotionit Factor Quick Blowdry Shampoo and Conditoner for Medium to Corse hair. This shampoo and conditioner help hair dry faster, with or without a hairdryer, which is great for busy gals with too much hair to deal with on a rushed morning! And it smells wonderfully! It's apple scent is light and girly. It made me want to add a nice bubblebath to my morning routine, but of course there's never time for that!

After using this set, I really did notice that my hair was lighter and had more bounce. I also used it Factor's Quickdry Smoothing Lotion to help with frizz and flyaways. The lotion isn't greasy at all and helped my waves become more defined. I was very happy with the three products combined and highly recommend them for girls with hair that never ends!

I've used ITfactor products and can attest that they do what they say, I particularly liked the lotion as far as "quick dry" goes.

June 15th, 2013. My wedding day. I didn't grow up wishing to be a fairy princess and I definitely didn't grow up fantasizing about my wedding. The first time I put actual thought into my wedding was last year when my long-time boyfriend proposed to me on a road trip. We were in the mountains of Maryland and we watched the sunset together with our very unimpressed corgi, Ion.

Then we got in the car and continued to drive the remaining 8 hours home. (Hey, we had our hour of romantic tears, but we were on a schedule, don't judge!). Calling family and friends was one of the best parts of being newly engaged, but it got me thinking. Wait, how does one even plan a wedding? But now, with the help of my amazing sister/Matron of Honor/wedding planning guide, I'm ready for my big day in a few weeks!

In the beginning, my wedding was nothing but stressful. Honestly, I hated wedding planning to the point of tears. After a few weeks of this, my fiancé finally sat me down and made me stop. He made me vow that'd I do the wedding to please only us, and since then it's been pretty fun. And geeky. Our wedding Save the Dates featured us in our pajamas, our invitations made references to Star Wars, Doctor Who, AND Star Trek (we're getting married at a place called the Frontier. We had to include a reference to the "Final Frontier"!), and yes, converse will be making an appearance.

With my sonic screwdriver in hand, I was ready for June 15th weeks ago. But when it came to my wedding beauty, I was still a bit lost, so I researched and prepped and spent way too long walking up and down aisles and aisles of beauty products to bring you my list of the Pre-wedding beauty must haves!

Skin: 06012013 Wedding Prep Article Jergens Natural Glow Certified FabulousJergens Natural Glow Body Lotion. I am a very fair person, and with summer here I've been working on my tan to look my best for the big day. However, I started to fear about farmers tan and unevenness (I run and walk outside a lot in tank tops, t-shirts, 3/4 length shirts, sweaters, etc. and it always leaves me looking multi-colored by fall). Thank goodness for Jergens Natural Glow Body Lotion! I started using is a month or so ago and love it! You apply it once a day and unlike other self-tanners, this one is super gradual, giving you complete control over your tan! I have an large dark coloring on one of my arms that I just didn't put the lotion on, and it helped blend it in to the rest of my arm! I messed up on one leg, leaving half darker than the other. The next day I only applied lotion to the lighter half and voila! Problem solved. No more tanlines, no more imperfections, just a nice, even, natural looking glow (and everyone thinks it's just the joy!)

I was so excited for our Soap & Glory week here at Certified Fabulous! I had never tried this UK brand before, but the instant I saw their branding, I knew I had fallen in love. Their bright bold logo combined with the retro images made me instantly want to try them. Beautiful black and white pin up girls cover their boxes, showing off their curves and promising you vintage pampering.

Soap Glory The Righteous Butter Body Cream 6.7.13I was not disappointed. For the past four weeks I've been using Soap & Glory's The Righteous Body Butter and I love it. Opening the tub reveals a rich, soft butter. The rosey aroma is enticing yet sophisticated. I like to describe it as a modern twist on my grandmother's favorite perfume!

But of course, when you try a lotion the smell is secondary to the results. But have no fear! Soap & Glory's Body Butter delivers. It makes my skin baby soft and leaves me feeling refreshed, making it a great lotion for spring! Lately I've been using it before going out in this beautiful Spring weather. It revitalizes my skin and makes me feel spring fresh and clean! I've also found myself using it after shaving, as it softens my skin and repairs the damage.

If you're like me and love the marriage of retro and modern, you need to try this brand!

A facial cleanser that doesn't need water?!? I was skeptical at first, but I've tried it and I have to bow my head to Merle Norman. Because they did it! And it's fantastic!

Merle Norman Cleansing Cream Certified FabulousMerle Norman's Cleansing Cream is a pink cream that feels almost like a thick body butter, and smells great. Flowery and subtle. I love it. I had to read the instructions a few times to make sure I was reading it right. I applied the cream to my face and massaged the cleanser into my skin. It removed my make-up and was extremely gentle on my face.

The cleanser is very easy to remove using a damp cloth. My skin felt clean but still hydrated (I didn't even use a facial cream afterwards just to see what would happen and it still felt great! That never happens!).

I must say, this is the most delicate cleanser I've ever used on my face! If you have sensitive skin, you must give it a try!

One of my favorite things about Summer is going to the beach. I love the way my skin and hair feel after a day lounging and walking with my dog on the sand. My skin is soft, sun kissed, and salty and my hair is wavy and thick from the misty air. Add an ice cream cone and a sexy boy and you've got my perfect summer day!

But with hectic schedules comes less beach days and more days spent working or running errands (and to think as a kid I thought being an adult would be awesome. I'd trade my driver's license and rent for biking with friends and going to the movies all day every day any day! Did that make sense?).
05242013 SKN Beverly Hills Beach House Scrub

Let's start with the shower. SKN Beverly Hills makes a body scrub called "Beach House Body" and it's the fastest way to feel like a beach bum without living on a beach! It uses actual sand, jojoba beads and apricot seeds to exfoliate your skin, leaving you bright and Summer Ice Cream date ready! (Man, is anyone else craving ice cream?) I love the feel and smell of this scrub! I started using it when the North East was still feeling ickish from Winter (aka Spring) and it made me so excited for Summer! And the beach! And ice cream!

05242013 Organix Moroccan Sea Salt SprayNow that my skin was ready, I just had to do something about my long wavy blah winter hair. And I found it! Organix Moroccan Sea Salt Spray & Surf Paste are my summer hair go-tos this year! The Sea Salt Spray is a great quick tool that gives you hair that great natural texture that I thought you could on get at the beach! I give my hair a quick spritz straight out of the shower and let it air dry for my not-really-wavy-not-really-straight tressels to transform into soft, sexy waves. The Surf Paste gives your hair a bit more structure and control, getting rid of flyaways while still leaving you looking natural. It doesn't hurt that they both smell like the beach (minus the dead fish smell you sometimes get).05242013 Organix Moroccan Surf Paste

Even though the weather has just started to feel Summer-ish, I've been enjoying the beach for weeks now thanks to these three wonderful products! Well, I have to go eat some ice cream now!

Your face is like your personal, permanent business card. It's what strangers, family, friends, co-workers, and everyone in between uses to gauge how you're feeling and what to talk about. If your face is furrowed in concentration, you'll probably be left alone (or asked incessantly what you're working on). If you're beaming and glowing, people will be drawn to you. Whether you're preparing for summer vacations, interviews, school, or just bumming around the neighborhood, it's easy to always put your best foot forward.

I'm not a big make-up wearer, and pretty much never wear any foundation or powder. So to keep my face looking great, I stick with a facial regimen that leaves my skin soft, even and break-out free.

Most importantly, always moisturize!

05172013 Seabuck Wonders Bottle Box Facial Cream v2 Certified FabulousAfter every shower, I always apply a facial cream or lotion! It's my main tool for keeping my skin even and soft. I've been using SeabuckWonders Sea Buckthorn Facial Cream. This cream is hydrating and lightweight, exactly what you want a facial cream to be. I recommend this cream because it's great for any skin type. It's not too oily or too dry, and has a great consistency. No matter what shape your skin is in, this is a great cream to moisturize and balance your skin. It also smells like oranges, yum!

While I can't live without a good facial cream, it is by far not my only tool:
