Achieving a flat tummy like Adrianna or legs like Gisele needn’t be a chore. Help is at hand from the Udo’s Choice team of experts who have offered their top tips on how to achieve Brazilian bodily perfection!

Get glowing skin

International MUA Ruby Hammerworks alongside Victoria Secret models who are always seeking her tips for youthful looking skin. Her top tip? ‘Swap sugar filled foods for healthy fats to achieve glowing skin from the inside out. Too much sugar can have a devastating impact on your skin. Essentially what happens is that sugar attaches itself to any protein in the body and produces harmful molecules called ‘advanced glycation end products. These reduce the effectiveness of elastin and collagen proteins in the skin that help maintain its youthful appearance. I work with all sort of models including the Victoria Secret girls and I always recommend Udo’s Choice when they ask me how I keep my age defying looks’.

Registered Dietitian Reveals the Best Foods to Eat This Summer

Forget the beach cover up, it is time to banish that belly for bikini season! Keren Gilbert MS, RD, a registered dietitian and certified nutritionist, believes that a diet rich in hydrophilic or “water-loving” foods is the key to tightening your tummy.

Founder and President of Decision Nutrition™, a nutrition consulting firm,

“Consuming water absorbent foods helps detoxify the body’s system,” notes Gilbert, Founder and President of Decision Nutrition™, a nutrition consulting firm. “Incorporating these foods into your diet will not only keep you feeling full longer, it will also help to curb your appetite. Not to mention, they will keep you feeling slim all summer long.”

Below is Gilbert’s list of the top foods to snack on this summer:

chia seeds1) Chia Seeds: Once a staple food of the Aztecs, these little black seeds offer a high natural source of Omega-3s, which is proven to lower fattening stress hormones like cortisol. “Chia seeds are also rich in antioxidants, minerals, fiber and protein,” adds Gilbert. “They can easily be added to any meal; whether it is sprinkling on salads or veggies, or mixing them in yogurt, oatmeal, or shakes.”

2) Apricots: Replacing refined sugars (such as those found in white pasta or white rice), with carbohydrates from fruits will reward your waistline. Not only do apricots have high levels of antioxidants like Vitamin C and beta-carotene, the water-absorbing fiber helps you stay full and fends off belly fat.

3) Oatmeal: This tried and true breakfast dish is a favorite for a reason. Oatmeal contains soluble fiber, which means it attracts water and stays in your stomach longer. This helps reduce blood cholesterol by flushing bad digestive acids out of your system. “It is most beneficial to eat unsweetened oatmeal because the added sugars in sweetened oatmeal cancel out the health benefits,” says Gilbert. “Adding fresh berries or a little almond milk for added flavor is the best option.”

4) Broccoli: A highly nutritious green vegetable, broccoli is packed with vitamins and minerals and is very high in fiber. The vegetable is a great choice for those looking to slim down during the summer months as broccoli has enzymes that assist in digestion and metabolism.

almonds5) Almonds: Almonds are high in monounsaturated fats and rich in the minerals magnesium and selenium, all of which have been shown to support adrenal function and boost metabolism. In addition, they keep you satisfied and full for a long time. “Be cautious of salted or smoked nuts which contain a lot of sodium as it can cause bloating,” warns Gilbert. “A handful of raw almonds a day will keep the belly fat away!”

BONUS - Almond Milk: A great alternative to milk and it contains belly flattening ingredients as well. For one, it does not have any lactose in it which makes it easier to digest. It contains a lot of Vitamin E which aids in detoxification. In addition, it has 1.5 grams of monounsaturated fatty acids, the good fat which helps burn fat around the abdomen.

1. Forget curlers and flat irons! Separate all of your hair into two-inch pieces. Then take a baby wipe (yes, a baby wipe!) and roll your hair tightly around it starting at the ends and rolling hair upwards until you’re three inches from the scalp. A baby wipe is perfect because it is sturdy and already damp so you don’t have to shower before creating luscious waves. When you finally reach the scalp, tie the ends of the baby wipe together. It should look like small knots covering your head. Continue and do this to all your hair. Sleep on it and then in the morning unravel all of the knots. Use your fingers or fine tooth comb to loosen the style. To finish, spray locks with a light hold hairspray.

2. Yes, it’s true that salt water really does help your hair achieve beach waves. Over the years, there have been many products on the market that help your locks create the “just left the beach look,” but my favorite is Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray because it leaves the most effortless finish! On damp hair, spray the sea salt solution sparingly on the entirety of your head. Next, take two-inch sections and “scrunch” each piece from the ends to the scalp. When you scrunch hair, use a t-shirt over/on your hands, as this will help you to avoid extra frizz/friction. To finish, simply let hair air dry, or to speed up the process and add extra volume, use a diffuser on the end of your blow-drier.

DIY ALERT! If you don’t want to splurge on a salon quality spray, there’s a simple DIY recipe that can still give you the look you’re aiming for at home. Take an 8 ounce spray bottle and fill it with water. Add a few tablespoons of sea salt to the mixture (the more you use, the more textured the waves). To finish the concoction, add a small drop of a moisturizing product like Moroccan Oil or your favorite conditioner. Give the bottle a good shake and spray on damp hair! Follow with the original steps of scrunching hair and letting it air dry and/or blow-drying it with a diffuser.

3. The perfect beach wave starts with a great haircut. If your hair is not layered properly, the waves you want won’t always form correctly. The ideal cut for the best beach waves involves layers around the face with a light layers in the back. The angles add interest to your hair, while the light layers in your length will help you to avoid a box-y look when your hair is curled.

1) Reduce Your Routine and Pick the Perfect Brush

You know the drill: wash, rinse, repeat. However, cleansing hair too often can strip away the natural oils that keep it healthy, thus making hair more brittle and prone to breaking. Nick suggests reducing the number of times you shampoo your hair to 3-4 times a week. In between shampoos, soak up oil with a light coat of dry shampoo on your roots and use a boar bristle brush (Nick recommends a boar hair brush like a Mason Pearson brush) to distribute hair oils from root to tip for extra natural shine and conditioning.

2) Swap out Silicone Shampoos

We’ve all heard the golden rule of getting a salon trim every six weeks to keep your hair healthy, but it isn’t always that easy! Silicone-based shampoos can make your hair ultra-shiny, but they can also prevent vital oils from accessing your strands. To boost your hairs natural conditioning abilities, Nick suggests opting for a silicone-free shampoo such as Kerastase’s Bain Crystal line. It purifies roots, rebalances hair fibers, and leaves ends smooth and polished (sans trim!).

The desire to look attractive is deeply rooted in people especially with the fairer sex. Everyone tries to give utmost care to the skin and rest of the face, neglecting the lips. The lips are devoid of sweat glands and they are repeatedly exposed and abused by irritants like environmental pollutants, food and drinks, weather and of course the tip of your tongue.

Pamper your lips and bring back that lusciousness by following these simple tips and tricks:

  • No licking, no picking:

Licking your lips can give you immense relief as it cools the lips down, but it makes the problem worse. Once the saliva evaporates, the lips become drier than before. The enzyme that clean mouth and digest food is harsh for your lips. Constant licking, biting and picking can cause cheilitis, an inflamed crusty patch, which forms at the corners of the mouth.

  • The perilous smooch:

Do not lock lips with someone inflicted by a sore or infection on the mouth or face. The American Academy Of Dermatology states that by age of 50, nearly 90% of Americans have been exposed to herpes simplex.

  • Know your cosmetics:

Use the right lip balm. Thinner lip balms and glosses evaporate quickly and will not provide long lasting moisturising effects. Opt for products with a base of beeswax, almond oil and paraffin. These seal in moisture and will not evaporate quickly. Use products devoid of fragrances and silicone, which saps moisture.
