Well now that we are in the midst of award season, it's time to do what we ladies do best, obsess over red carpet style. Whether we love the stars or not, we will take no shame in juding their fashion choices. As the Golden Globes kicked off Janaury 12th, we have plenty of dresses to analyze. There was definetly the fair share of trends taking place on the red carpet. Here are a few that stood out:

Gold Tones

From chic slinky dresses to fuller embellsihed ensembles, these sparkling champagne dresses showed a softer side on the red carpet. I particilarly love Naomi Watts chucky jewled neckline, bringing an edgy touch to the soft color. Michelle Dockery lets her sequined dress take center stage by wearing minimal jewelry and soft gold heels. The various texture's in Zooey Deschanel's Oscar de la Renta outfit create a flirty & dynamic style.

Black & White

Black and White dresses also had a few standouts on the red carpet. We especially love Emilia Clarke in a strapless Peplum (Proenza Scouler) & Laura Carmichael in the sleek and stunning Viktor & Rolf.

Ladies in Red

Whether it was colorblocking, added textures or a showing off a slim figure, the color red was also popular on the red carpet. In Carolina Herrera's fitted bodice and fuller gown, Taylor Swift shows off her slim waist and maintains an elegant look. Lupita Nyongo' goes bold with Ralph Lauren, doning a dress with a cape but in the most chic-est of fashions. I think next time we'll pass on the added textures of red on the Giambattista Valli Couture gown...

All Black

Black is usually chic, elegant & stunning and these ladies in black showed us just that. From simple black, cut just right, or stunning lace details, these stars showed how a simple style can make a strong statement.

What was your favorite look of the night?

I really liked Robin Wright's dress..... but it did show a little too much on the sides.
